I hate when people actually care if you use phases in MWS. It's not like they use phases in apprentice. It's not like irl I rip off a slip of paper, label the phases on it, and move a coin over each phase as I'm taking my turn.
"but, what if you say 'pass turn' and I have a second main phase play?"
well how about you say "hold up, I have a play during your second main phase." For all of the three seconds wasted to type the message, it sure does save two seconds -per turn-, which adds up to like 140 seconds per match. |

Go play serious Magic irl, then.
People almost HAVE to say, "Declare combat", "Enter 2nd main phase", "responses?", Etc. |

Back when I used Apprentice I did.

I announce each phase as I take my turn in real life.

It takes you two seconds to press Ctrl+Spacebar or click through the phases?
I am constantly amazed by how many people seem to be invalids when it comes to moving their hands a fraction of an inch and clicking a button (or pressing a key on the keyboard). |

Something that happened just the other day that just yanked my chain. this guy who made a goblin deck, made his own fake cards like goblin paradise and graveyard of goblins, when we were playing a t2 match. the fact that he made the cards wasnt so bad, as they were actually fairly decent cards, but he marked them all as CHK..............son.......of........a......*1t(h. that really pissed me off, and when i tried to explain to him that he couldnt do that, that he shouldnt play made up cards in a t2 match, he couldnt speak english well, and the games name was "t2 test w/dis, ENG ONLY"

You misunderstood him.
He was Chinese and he wanted to play against Eng, not English-speakers. |

I'm pretty sure that is a result of screen resolution and not them being "annoying". |

No, it goes away as long as I have controlled the creature since the beginning of my turn.
If it went away at the end of your turn, I could tap it during your end of turn phase. |
For all intents and purposes, SS fades at the beginning of the first upkeep after you have controlled the creature.
Back on topic though, I haven't had any problems. I've yet to have to play any assholes yet on m-l. |

From the comprehensive Rules:
"403.4. A creature’s activated ability with the tap symbol ({T}) in its activation cost can’t be played
unless the creature has been under its controller’s control since the start of his or her most recent
turn. Ignore this rule for creatures with haste (see rule 502.5)."
"502.5b A creature with haste can attack or use activated abilities whose cost includes the tap symbol
even if it hasn’t been controlled by its controller continuously since the beginning of his or her
most recent turn. (See rule 212.3d.)"
"212.3d A creature’s activated ability with the tap symbol in its activation cost can’t be played unless
the creature has been under its controller’s control since the start of his or her most recent turn.
A creature can’t attack unless it has been under its controller’s control since the start of his or
her most recent turn. This rule is informally called the “summoning sickness” rule. Ignore this
rule for creatures with haste (see rule 502.5)."
SS doesn't go away until the begining of the creature's controler's turn. It has nothing to do with your opponent's upkeeps and end of turns. It has to be your turn. Good call Strovil |

Oh. Then he must have been Eng and you were advertising a game for him. Why would you expect non-English speakers to understand what Eng means?
Furthermore, why are you on MWSPlay.net playing random pick-up games to test? There is no ground on which to complain. Caveat emptor.

Eon Hub.
And the manner in which you stated it means I can use tap abilities on my opponent's turn after casting the creature on my own.
Annoying:
--Having your opponent curse at you and quit after you destroy his flavor-of-the-week netdeck with your 'n00b pile'
--People claiming to be DCI judges when it is obvious they have little to no idea (and then quitting when you quote from the Comp Rules) |
