| There should be a class of individuals who should be able to make minis, but not be judges. Why not give someone who is able to run minis and input results, etc. Be a TC? #judges4you almost always has active judges that can rule on rules questions. Why not allow certain players who have not been able to pass the judge test to make minis? |

Well, I as well think that would be nice (I'll just say there are probably inherent problems with arguing this and how it would work)...it seems like no one ever hosts like t1 minis and that is what I love, so therefore I would find it nice.
And I did pass the judge test, just haven't heard back from anyone yet.

this has been brought up since like back when mirridon was coming out and the answer is always the same...NO.
Why? Besides the fact that running minis means having to deal with problems and that their will definitly be a time where no ones active in #judges4you thus the non-judge tc would have to call it and obviously is good enough to if he can't pass the test, well...thats actually the main reason.
Fact is, how would you decide who gets the ability? Make a test? Well then you just deleted the point, cause then more guys like you will complain that you wanna run minis...too bad get over it. etc. |

| psu42: that's because when aule deleted site, your test got lost. Just talk to WildCard/nico if you see them or retake/repass test and you'll be fine. |

You need more than just a host. You need enough people.
Over the past few days I have seen multiple T1 and Legacy minis canceled because only 3 people in the channel want to play. |

| It would be cool and very useful but there is the problem of the rules that's why it's hard to happen. Maybe a soluction would be if you get 6 or 7 in teh judge test you become a TC. If you get more you become a level 1 judge. If someone can get a 6 or a 7 in that test he already knows a lot because some questions are damn hard and also almost impossible to happen. BTW a good thing would be that you you fail/pass the test in the e-mail you receive you got the questions and answers so you would get to know what was the correct answer so that you learn it. |

Getting the answers is impractical, as the pool of questions we use for the test is somewhat limited. You do get the results back from the dci because they have multiple hundreds (if not thousands) of questions, and the pool that the test is drawn from varies every few months.
One thing that test question submission has strived for over the last couple of months is reality. There is a greater pool of questions which could/have acutally happened in a tournament. If I ever see a ruling in judges4you that I think would be a good test question, I submit it. If anything, the current test that we use is too easy... anyone who has a solid grasp of the rules should be able to pass 8/10. |

And mini-runners are not allowed, been discussed/proposed/rejected for years now. |
As quoted from Alex. The problem with doing this is that the mechanism that allows judges to make minis also gives them the ability to do things we'd rather not have non-judges see. It isn't worth it and doesn't make sense to re-program the entire section so that other people can make minis. Also, the test protocol would need revising to even put people in that category. There's a lot more work involved than some think. |

Now I know why I failed the test so badly (I got 3/10). In most questions I just said yes or no because only two or three said explain so I thought I didn't have to explain. That's why I thought it was so hard. After all it's not that hard to get 8/0 although it's not easy too.
The only problem is the lack of minis at some points. And then there's another thing I've seen happen: 2 t2 minis both +1700 at the same time and 2 t2 minis both on mws at the same time. Judges shouldn't do that. |

| I failed my test with 6/10 read the entire comprehensive rules and still don't know why I got most of them wrong. |

@Gerrardfo: Thanks for the reply, now I know something at least and can possibly fix that.
@whoever said what i'm responding to here: That is weird because I don't think I've ever seen a T1 mini dropped due to no players; although I have seen several Legacy (which is because it's a crappy format). (Just kidding, but no seriously, it sucks.) |

I've only seen one Legacy mini close "because of lack of players", and that wasn't even the real reason it's just what the TC said in public. The mini had 5 players in 2 mins. then he decided he'd rather play T2 so he said that in a private channel then went in the league channel and said because of no players and closed it. I'm sure that not the only Legacy mini to ever close from a supposed lack of players but on the flip side I see a whole lot of T1 minis close because of lack of players when I come home late style drunk and turn on the cpu sometimes I see a T1 mini sit there for about 20 mins. with only the TC in it before it closes granted this is usually after "last call". |

A few of my buddies and I were discussing an idea that would allow people to run a "mini" that weren't judges but the higher judges all say we cant but what if we could but it just wouldnt add team points only individual rating points
I had thought about it one day after smoking a fatty the idea ladies and gentlemen is what me and my friends have decided to call "League Minis". Its a mini run by a member of the league who doesnt have to be a judge to run one we would still go to the judges room and ask for rulings if need be and you wont have to go to the homepage to sign up for these you could just join the mini right from the chatroom setup for the mini the channel name is Let's make this clear: no advertising minis for non-league channels as of right now. Now I know you are all dying to know how this could all be done and the answer is quite simple my friend you would have to join the leaguemini channel pairings from a sample tournament would have at least 8 participants whenever we have 8 willing participants we obtain deck codes for each participants deck so as to ensure that noone is cheating all this information will be obtained in the #leaguemini room by a user named TC anyone who wishes to TC a mini can just come in and change their name to extTC8max or T2w/dissTC just for examples whoever is the one who wishes to run a leaguemini has to finish the one he started running if not he will not be allowed to run minis anymore in the room you could always ask someone from the room to take it over for you if you need to leave but you have to tell someone to TC it for you. Once the TC has obtained all 8 participants Usernames and appr or mws deck code he will then proceed to pair the 8 participants randomly then he will type in the pairings in the #leaguemini channel each player will then play each other with a reasonable time limit per round once all players are paired they will then contact each other in a pm to connect with either hamachi or MWS But Before you connect to your paired opponent you must either challenge him or have him challenge you so that way you will affect your individual ratings. All minis should be single elimination unless otherwise stated by the TC. Any problems the participants will have should all be settled with your current TC . Almost all the aspects of a regular mini are there except 1) you dont have to signup on the league home page 2) you wont earn team points but you will earn idividual rating points .
3)It's all done thru the LEAGUE!!!!!! Which allows individual players who have the time and wish to run a League mini can just join There is a short anecdote about people who did this and LordHawk. It doesn't end well, mind you.
This is just a new idea anyone who wants to partake can come join us in the channel and play and try to make this idea work |

You probably can't try that, I'm sure a tc will shut you down...they hate players thinking on their own...
I'm not still upset about #Care...no... |
