Stupid question, obviously, but I'm a bit confused.
If I play Shadow of Doubt in response to Weird Harvest, is Weird Harvest countered?
(In other words: Does this card totally destroy Heartbeat?) |

| yeah, it basicaly counters. i dont see why this card doesnt get more play, it stops heartbeat, or at least throws a kink in its plan for a few turns. BB for a conditional counter what u get to draw off of? where do i sign up? |

| It's descent. In T2 Cranial is just soo much better at what Doubt does. It's good but there are so many good T2 sideboard options and most decks either have better stuff vs. combo or can't support this mana wise. In ext its good if Tooth or Dragonstorm is a serious concern. |

It's situational yes, but those situations are great for patching holes in the maindeck for the match.
It's anti Cranial, stifles heartbeat, etc. etc. the list goes on. All I know is I`m running 4 SB, you're free to use your own discretion, but it's a damn nice card even with its situational drawback considered. |

| I like it, should point out with cranial, if they make a connect on something in your hand it does not stop that. |

One part of the effect is stopped, which counters the entire spell

No, affinity, I'm pretty sure your wrong about that.
It doesn't counter any part of the spell... |

it doesnt counter the weird harvest but the
"search your library for.." will be skipped.
so you have a spell resovling without any effect. |

Saturday School questions matching "shadow"
From Standard Team Trip by John Carter, Saturday, April 8, 2006:
Q: If my opponent plays Cranial Extraction naming Wildfire, and I respond by playing Shadow of Doubt, my opponent cannot search my library correct? --Mark
A: Shadow of Doubt will stop the library-searching portion of Cranial Extraction.
*Extra*: Be careful with when the Shadow is played. You don't name the card until Cranial Extraction resolves, and if the Extraction is resolving, you won't have time to play Shadow of Doubt. Technically, you'll be predicting that something bad for you will be chosen - a safe enough bet. |
