Jitte is pronounced jeet-teh. However, the jee is not as strong as in jeep. It is between jeep and gypsy.

"Jitte" is pronounced 'jeet-tay.' in japanese there is a glottal stop between double consonants.

te in Japanese is not tay in English.

Yes it is, or it is close enough that it doesnt matter.

If you're speaking quickly (colloquial normal speed)
yosei - yo-say
kokusho - coke-sho (slowly = ko kuu show)

It is pronounced 'tay'. Compare to ittekimasu or itterasshai.

It is not pronounced tay, quidam. I will accept 'close enough' but te is not tay just as surely as se is not say.

There is no need to quibble over exact pronounciation. Tay is the closes English has for Te, although "Teh" is effectievly the same sound.

It's far closer to "tay" than to any other English sound, at the very least.
