Global Warming #2 2RRR

Enchantment Rare

At the beginning of your end step put a charge counter on Global Warming.

At the beginning of each combat Global Warming deals damage equal to the number of charge counters on it to each creature.

Banto the simple minded WG
Creature - human warrior R

Players can not draw more than 1 card each turn.

2/2

Banto came to the conclusion that there is only so much a person should know

here's my judging. game impact is worth 4 points, others worth 3. I did it in a bit of a hurry so please excuse any lapses in judgment, it was either do it now or wait until Sunday evening.

Uroboros -- Global Warming
Impact: 3
Balance: 1.5
Originality: 2.5
Total: 7
I like the effect/flavor combination, but even with cumulative upkeep, seems a bit too powerful. In the right deck/matchup it's an unanswerable 3-drop that wins the game outright.

iSperia -- Ice Age
Impact: 4
Balance: 2
Originality: 3
Total: 9
I like this card a lot, it shuts down creature decks but doesn't lock them out of the game completely. Only problem is it can be abused by creatures with activated abilities (not sure if intentional).

CMA-Flippi -- Planet of the Apes
Impact: 3.5
Balance: 3
Originality: 2.5
Total: 9
I wouldn't find this card very fun to play with, but I'm sure many people would. At least it's more fun than Humility.

Raybelfast -- Nature Reserve
Impact: 3.5
Balance: 1.5
Originality: 3
Total: 8
I like the idea, but I don't like how hard it is to get rid of. Might as well make it cost a bit more and give creatures +1/+1 or something so people would feel better about conceding when it hits the table.

UnBearAble -- Ruthless Torture Device
Impact: 4
Balance: 2
Originality: 3
Total: 9
I love taking a fundamental concept like damage and turning it around. I feel like it's abusable/should cost more, but can't think of any ridiculous combos off the top of my head.

Mrrr -- Nether Mage
Impact: 3.5
Balance: 3
Originality: 3
Total: 9.5
What can I say, I like this card a lot. The drawback is well-proportioned to the power, and it rewards smart play.

aule -- Web Wall
Impact: 2
Balance: 3
Originality: 1
Total: 6
Against a few decks this would be fairly relevant, but not game-changing.

pseudodespot -- Prismatic Edict
Impact: 3
Balance: 3
Originality: 3
Total: 9
At first this seemed really really cool, then I got to thinking how bookkeep-y it could make things and I soured a bit.

Livermush -- Dr. Who, Lord of Time
Impact: I don't see the global effect.
Balance: Maybe I'm missing something, but if anything seems a bit underpowered.
Originality: 3
Total: I would have loved to see this card in another CaC, but not this one.

Scuta04 -- Zip Line
Impact: 1
Balance: 2.5
Originality: 2.5
Total: 6
I like the tie-in between the two abilities, but there's no real global effect.

BIRDYYY -- Pyrostatic Vortex
Impact: 4
Balance: 2.5
Originality: 3
Total: 9.5
I like this card a lot, it has strong presence in early and late game but is a bit risky to count on as a win-condition (and red loves risks). Seems like it could be a bit too powerful, but the kind of deck that would abuse this would probably rather spend turn 2 doing damage than playing an enchantment.

ck3gds -- Tempest of Lightning
Impact: 2
Balance: 2
Originality: 2
Total: 6
It puts everyone on a shorter clock, but not in a very productive way. I'd rather see this do less damage for less mana, or be in black without the randomness.

thelemys -- Hands Full
Impact: 4
Balance: 2
Originality: 3
Total: 9
I love the idea, and as a card it could be a sideboard option or a core deck component. Power level seems dangerous, maybe 5 mana?

Dr_Moo -- Despair
Impact: 4
Balance: 3
Originality: 2
Total: 9
I like the card a lot, but it's just not the most interesting.

Stucco -- Corpse-Bane Chieftan
Impact: 4
Balance: 1
Originality: 3
Total: 8
Too abusable. Off the top of my head, evoke. If creatures were exiled when they died, this would be a 9.5

AxiomBlurr -- Delirium
Impact: 2
Balance: 2.5
Originality: 2.5
Total: 7
Maybe in the right deck this would be powerful, but I can't think what that deck would be. I guess it makes Liliana a bit scarier.

Strid3r -- Global Warming #2
Impact: 4
Balance: 3
Originality: 2.5
Total: 9.5
I like it. Brutal effect, but slow enough to be answered. The game would be fun if more red decks had this type of play style.

Bairdsy -- Platinum Demon
Impact: 2
Balance: 3
Originality: 1
Total: 6
When I look at this, I just see abyssal persecutor with a drawback. It has a big impact, but that's more from the 7/7 body than the effect, which is only sort of global.

sc4rs -- Arrogance
Impact: 4
Balance: 2.5
Originality: 2
Total: 8.5
Seems like a well-designed card, but maybe a bit too powerful.

aqualad33 -- Banto the simple minded
Impact: 3.5
Balance: 3
Originality: 3
Total: 9.5
Simple, strong, flavorful.

aqualad33, Strid3r, BIRDYYY, and Mrrr all really impressed me this round, and it's not easy to decide a winner.

BIRDYYY wins this round, runner up Mrrr

Prefered and best are not the same, judge is always right here.
Plus: Banto in most games is not impacting that much.
