I'm drafting swiss as there is no way to turn a significant profit at the modo cube and its really just a fun format so I would rather guarantee I get to play 3 rounds than end up ochoing.

Didn't have time to watch a lot, but mulldrifter is a pretty weak first pick.
Even if you really want to be blue just take the sundering titan, since it has a much higher powerlevel and sets you up for several powerful things (tinker, show and tell). A colorless card is also in general a better first pick to keep your options open. I would have taken titan or skullclamp.

Smile I was expecting to get flamed for my first pick props for putting it nicely. It certainly is a controversial pick, I think if you planing on going to combo route though demonic tutor is better than titan as fatties are normally easy to find. Clamp is best in white weenie of mono red and both those decks are eugh.

I think only knowing how i draft cube ie im blue 9/10 drafts can you really justify my pick and its still a stretch.

I don't think sundering titan is a combo only card. It's very easily castable with a couple of manarocks (which you want in almost any deck anyway) and it has a high impact on the board. In a blue control deck I would still much rather have the titan than the drifter.
Upsides of the titan:
High powerlevel
Colorless
Will make your deck for sure unless you end up going aggressive (a strategy you say you dislike)

There are more big creatures but the colorless ones are actually pretty high picks since they are so good with things like channel, tinker, mana drain, and can be played in any deck.

In a non powered cube the drifter would be a fine pick here.
