Are we allowed to use cockatrice...i know its become a popular alternative to mws.

We don't force players to use any particular application, so you can use Cockatrice if you wish Smile Just bear in mind that at the beginning of the round you are supposed to determine the play application you use with your opponent as well as the method of connection.

Judges frown upon Cockatrice, but as long as it meets the Floor Rules and you and your opponent agree to both play on Cockatrice (most everyone uses MWS though) then you can use it. This is for tournaments and ranked matches (I assume the latter), outside of tournaments you could probably get away with murder.

Judges don't frown on it, it's simply not allowed. The only program that meets the requirements for what M-L needs in a tournament setting is MWS. 'nuff said. And this thread is a year old >.>
