Thanks Sc4rs and ck3gds!

My challenge is thus:

Create a Spell-on-a-stick!

What does this mean? Check out Aura of Silence and Seal of Fire.

I want an Enchantment that you can Sacrifice to do something. Be creative, be flavorful, I'll use the following rating scale:

Printability: 5 points (how likely is WotC to print this card?)
Flavor: 10 points (Flavor is flavor. Impress me.)
Usability: 5 points (How usable is this card in a constructed environment?)

Ready.... Go!

Judge's Entry:

Mark of Denial 1UU

Enchantment [Rare]

Spells cost 1 more to cast.

Sacrifice Mark of Denial: Counter target spell.

The sign of a true master is always hard to miss.

Pentad Idol | 3
Enchantment (Rare)

Sunburst (This comes into play with a counter on it for each color of mana used to pay its cost.)

Remove two counters from Pentad Idol: Pentad Idol becomes a 2/2 white bird creature with flying.

Remove three counters from Pentad Idol and sacrifice it: Choose one: deal 3 damage to target creature and that creature's controller, draw 3 cards then discard 1 card at random, gain 3 life for each creature in play, or search your library for 3 land cards and put them in your hand.

[edit: I don't like this card and will end up changing it ]

Havoc Fest 1RR

Creatures you control have haste.

At the beginning of the next end step, Havoc Fest deals X damage to each creature where X is the number of creatures on the battlefield.

Sacrifice Havoc Fest: Deal 2 damage to each other player and 3 damage to you.

First of all, I really like the challenge this week, good job ShamedShadow!

Here is my entry:


Song of Pipers 3GG

Enchantment [Mythic Rare]

At the beginning of your upkeep, you may look at the top card of your library. If it's a creature or land card, you may put it onto the battlefield.

Sacrifice Song of Pipers: You may put a creature card from your hand onto the battlefield.

Comments: As I said, the challenge was a sweet one, and I took inspiration from 2 of my favorite cards from my starting days, Call of the Wild and Elvish Piper. The first ability is obviously my attempt to "fix" Call of the Wild's ability, which I always liked, and improve it in a way that will actually matter a lot. (Just imagine having this on the battlefield when your opponent casts azorious charm) Combining it with the ability to ramp your lands too is obviously another great improvement, and should help to justify this cards cost and rarity.
The sacrifice ability is a classic, but nonetheless very strong on an enchantment.
I think the two abilities combined make a very strong card, which led to the decision of making it Mythic Rare instead of Rare. Also, you don't want to have too many of those in your limited games.

0: Sacrifice ~, then draw a card.
-4: Put a green Bear Tribal Enchantment token onto the battlefield with "All creatures are 2/2".

I think it's important to note that Lhurgoyf is the creature type and Hans is the Planeswalker subtype.

War of the Meek RW

Enchantment - Rare

Whenever a creature with converted mana cost of 1 or less enters the battlefield under your control,
War of the Meek deals 1 damage to target creature or player and you gain 1 life.

Sacrifice War of the Meek: Search your library for a creature card with converted mana cost 1 or less,
reveal it and then put it in your hand. Shuffle your library.
