is laboratory maniac legal? in that case, just add protection spells (apostle's blessing, faith's shield, withstand death, autumn's veil or avacyn restored's cloudshift, among others), some fog effect, wrath effect, memory's journey to recur lab maniac just in case and some cantrip, name it gitaxian probe (for it's freeness) or/and thought scour, maybe one snapcaster and voilą! you broke the format!

Ob ring for any nasty things, the protection spells for lab maniac, cantrips and lab maniac itself. SB is self explanatory: more protection against removal-heavy decks, ray of revelation (i just don't wanna see nevermore, which in my opinion could become broken in this format) and reinforcements to survive long enough to combo off.
Should you play with avacyn restored, you have cloudshift, a better protection spell (W: exile target creature you control; then return that card to the battlefield under your control). |

With regards to the Mono Black.
What about street wraith as a utility card? |
