The winner is BlackPen.
The runner-up is CMA-Flippi.

Judgings can be found here.

Concerns can be voiced, but judgings are final. Twenty-five cards to analyze in one sitting (since we like rapid-fire rounds) is a bit taxing, there will be more rounds after this.

My card shouldve lost 1 point on functionality. WotC doesnt like printing 2 cards with the same flavortext Razz

At the same time, I feel the category balance refers to cards like Bloodbraid elf or Geist of Saint Traft as too strong and good old Chimney Imp as too bad. On that one, my image of how MtG should be is probably outdated however.

Hah, damn, I checked the flavor text of all of the 'Voice of' cards and figured you read poetry on the side. Razz

About balance, I agree with you about Geist and Bloodbraid, however the balance category that I stole from the previous judge was 10 pts. That leaves quite a bit of room for interpretation. If I changed anything about the rubric, I'd combine Balance and Functionality, and maybe make a 'printability + creativity' section.

Really? I thought he was a perfect fit for a world full of vampires, werewolves and zombies.

Thanks for the compliments on your review. I knew balance would be an issue, guess I wasn't thinking about Block.

If I were to change anything, it would probably be having it cost either BBB and 1 or 'Grixis' and 1 (White and Green's enemy colors.)

Well, if they end up putting Kate Beckinsale on a vampire card, I will mail you a formal apology, but only after I purchase four.

Yes, I realize that. I can't expect contestants to perfectly word their cards because English may not be their primary language and this is supposed to be a fun forum game. Instead of defining a line in which I would or would not deduct points, I tried to interpret submissions as they were intended.

I am fully confident in my inability to be a perfect judge, so I could be a bit off on my scoring. There are always positives and negatives concerning a submission, I feel it's important to mention both. Cheers and good luck next round!
