Hello everyone, I recently registered in Magic League after playing casual with real cards and Magic Workstation for a long time. I've mosty used this Goblin deck and it has worked pretty well. Do you think Goblins can be competitive in tournaments organised here?

CREATURES

4x Goblin Guide
4x Goblin Bushwhacker
4x Warren Instigator
4x Goblin Chieftain
4x Mogg War Marshal
2x Siege Gang Commander

SPELLS

4x Dragon Fodder
4x Lightning Bolt
4x Goblin Grenade
4x Searing Blaze
4x Forked Bolt

LAND

15x Mountain
3x Smoldering Spires

SIDEBOARDING

4x Vexing Shusher
4x Smash to Smitheerens
4x Dismember
3x Combust
Feel free to post any suggestions on how to make this deck better!

Thank you very much!! Smile

Looks awesome tbh. Maybe add some Mutavaults instead of the smoldering spires.

It's not a bad start.

// Deck file for Magic Workstation (http://www.magicworkstation.com)

// Lands
20 [M10] Mountain (3)

// Creatures
4 [SHM] Boggart Ram-Gang
4 [ZEN] Goblin Guide
4 [M12] Goblin Chieftain
4 [TSP] Mogg War Marshal
4 [ZEN] Goblin Bushwhacker

// Spells
4 [SHM] Flame Javelin
4 [TSP] Rift Bolt
4 [M12] Goblin Grenade
4 [M10] Lightning Bolt
4 [ALA] Dragon Fodder

// Sideboard
SB: 3 [FUT] Magus of the Moon
SB: 4 [9E] Blood Moon
SB: 4 [SHM] Guttural Response
SB: 4 [SHM] Vexing Shusher

I took out instigator and siege-gang because I wanted a low land count and instigator will rarely ever be relevant, so I won't be stuck with commander in hand and not enough mana.

Searing Blaze is more of a sb-relevant card and so is forked bolt, so they were swapped out for Rift Bolt and Flame Javelin to help kill off the opponent quicker.

1st turn: Guide or Rift Bolt
2nd turn: War Marshal or Dragon Fodder.
3rd turn: Chief or Ram-Gang
4th turn: Bushwhacker and burn.

The sideboard is tuned for the blue matchup and the "I'm gonna play all the best cards from 4 different colors.dec" deck.

Seems like it could be a really fun deck to play.

// Lands
2 [M11] Mountain (3)
2 [9E] Island (1)
4 [ISD] Sulfur Falls
4 [GP] Steam Vents
4 [9E] Shivan Reef
4 [ZEN] Scalding Tarn

// Creatures
4 [PLC] Simian Spirit Guide

// Spells
4 [9E] Seething Song
2 [TSP] Grapeshot
4 [ISD] Past in Flames
4 [NPH] Gitaxian Probe
2 [TSP] Empty the Warrens
4 [ZEN] Pyromancer Ascension
4 [FD] Serum Visions
4 [9E] Sleight of Hand
4 [SHM] Manamorphose
4 [CHK] Desperate Ritual

Thank you all for your help. The reason why I have forked bolt and searing blaze is to help with creature removal too.

Do you think it will be better to only focus on player burn? Or should I keep some burn spells to remove blockers and threats?

I recently added the warren Instigators and Siege Gang Commander after buying them in real life, and you are right, too slow. I've been able to play free goblins with instigator only a couple of times. Is there any kind of Goblin other than Boggart Ram Gang that could be useful?

No offense but I don't think Goblin King is good enough. It's only useful against red decks, and even then it can be dangerous in a mirror match. Nevertheless, mutavault is awesome!!!! I canīt afford them in real life, but here is different!!

The biggest problem I've had with this deck is that it can't stand up against other decks if time has passed or if the opponent gains a lot of life. Any advice on that point?

Thank you all for helping me!! Very Happy

By the way, awesome deck GunsandDope!! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Goblin storm? If I can keep it in modern it's not a bad idea.

It does seem a bit inconsistent to me though.

Does it work well for you GunsandDope?

Eh, it's so-so. Once you land past in flames, you can basically build up your storm for a while then kill them easily.
