Doesnt play along so well with Snapcasters actually.

Derp. My bad. Regardless, trinket + this sounds like something to explore for control decks.

It only stops creatures from coming from the library. Lands are still ok.

Still, what a huge hoser, I hope it means that snapcaster is played in specific decks instead of *every* deck now.

why do wizards print such a ridiculus card right before GP lille where i want to go to and play some kind of control deck with snapcaster, think twice and forbidden alchemy. i believe i can throw it in the bin now since it locks down the whole deck.

It will definitely see Sideboard play...its a hoser card...its obviously not going to be MD in any deck except as a tutor target via Trinket Mage as everyone has said.

It absolutely drains GW Maverick...they can't even tutor up an answer...and in Standard I think it will make a huge impact. It will definitely help reinforce Illusions by protecting them from flashback/graveyard decks and as pointed out, Birthing Pod, Burning Vengeance, and UB control are now strategies that HAVE to be able to deal with this since they get crushed by this 1 mana answer.

I wonder what effect it will have on Vintage, does Vintage use the graveyard much? (note: i'm not really a Vintage guy, just looking to see if it will see play there as well)

I would be shocked if this is anything more than a niche card in Standard. UB control isn't really scared of a 1-drop that does no damage and only mildly disrupts what it wants to do, and if it becomes popular they can bring in Mental Misstep and/or Steel Sabotage. Meanwhile, the color of GSZ and Pod is also the color of extensive artifact hate and, unlike Torpor Orb, Cage does nothing to stop them from hardcasting Slime or Corrupter and knocking out your answer.
