Pretty sure the rarity is part of the challenge there Fred Razz

Also, when is this thing getting judged?

Plotting in the Shadows 6UB
Sorcery - Uncommon

You may discard 3 cards rather than pay ~ casting cost.

Each opponent loses 3 life.

Flashback - UB, Draw two cards.

The wizards' plots were too complex for their own good.

It's like
UB - Sorcery - Uncommon
As additional cost to play ~, discard 3 cards.
Each opponent loses 6 life. Draw two cards.

Self Destruct - 2{RP}{RP}{RP}{RP}{RP}{RP}
Instant - Uncommon

({RP} can be paid with either {R} or 2 life.)

Self Destruct deals 6 Damage to target creature or player.

Its alot more than that:
The draw 2 is part of costing cost, cannot be countered, responsed etc.
You can choose to do only the discard part for madness/dredge purposes.

Are we getting a judgement soon btw? Oh and happy holdays.

You do realize my card costs WW from 4th round and beyond right? (Assuming people don't miss land drops - You really do not need or want to use it earlier anyway... maybe at a tarmogoyf at round 3 for 1WW, still good enough) An unconditional removal spell in 2 mana (99% of the time) is quite powerful last time i checked (add the fact that you can take advantage of the high casting cost - evades spell snares, combo with heretic punishment and the like). As far as the flavor is concerned, i thought a stairway would be bigger with more lands in play, so easier to reach heaven (less cost to get exiled) Smile.

I don't want to sound like QQing, i just can't understand sometimes why people can't see my cards like i do Smile .

I volunteer myself to judge this round, and here is my verdict.

@Jacois
Industry standard for a "Draw three cards" sorcery is Concentrate. Paying twice for the same number of cards isn't very impressive. Tacking on a Concentrate as flashback makes the card slightly better. Overall, this card feels uncommon indeed - useful but not overpowering. I'd be sold if instead I were looking at a 6UU Tidings with flashback 3UU, but no complaints.

The only blemish here is the flavor - more specifically, the name. I see "required" and I go, "Oh, it must be something not very good." This card is upside enough that it doesn't feel "required".Cool

For reals? Not impressive? It's a 4-for-1. You build around it, it's perfect for competitive standard! With faithless looting coming about, not to mention tossing this to Liliana or Forbidden Alchemy, it's incredibly strong!

Not sure if 'required' is the best adjective to this card, but 'research' definitely hits the nail on the head - the flavor altogether is mighty: Dat falvor text, dat flash back, dat remembering something you already knew (concentrate from the grave)

I'm not sure why you're harping on the template of this card (Desperate Times). It doesn't need to have "other" in it because according to how you cast spells, Desperate Times would be on the stack before you had to pay the alternate cost (Discarding your hand). Therefore the restriction of "You may only use this ability if you have at least 1 card in your hand" is relevant.

Didn't say I wasn't impressed, lucksick. In fact until I came across the later entries, I was pretty sure that Jacois was gonna win this one.

Still not sure why you gave the win to an evoke 3GG draw 3 card when the flashback suits the 'make it constructed playable' clause perfectly with the current grave-based T2. It didn't have any flavor flaws either, but okay.
