It's a month in the islamic calendar during which religious fasting and others forms of rite occur.
However, though it can occasionally coincide with Christmas (as it migrates yearly because of the differences in the Gregorian calendar year and the islamic calendar year), this year it's not near the Winter Solstice holidays; I believe it corresponded to early october-early november. |
