Thread to discuss anything related for the trial and master scheduled from August 15th to August 28th. Link to it here: http://www.magic-league.com/info/calendar.php

For the last days of August and the first weeks of September, we have:

4 Standard (1 is the Master)
4 Modern
2 Legacy
2 M12 Sealed
1 237 Modern
1 Build Your Own Block

With nationals still going and a pro tour right this coming weekend, Standard and Modern are the prominent formats. A couple of Legacy and M12 Sealeds round things up.
237 Modern is our new incarnation of an old favorite: 237 Extended. In this format you can only play cards whose converted manacost is 2, 3 or 7. And Counterbalance is banned in case you are all afraid Smile
Last but not least, Build Your Own Block, aka BYOB. Choose 3 sets and build a deck with them!

I like it, also the casual formats. However, doesn't 237 tournaments end up just being 23 tournaments?

Seems a little lite on casuals this time around, but overall I'm happy with it.

@strukfgbgf: 2 and 3 are the most common, but 7 definitely ends up showing up. For instance, in the last 237 trial I played caw-blade with Elesh Norn taking the place of Sun Titan. Tooth and Nail is also a perrennial favorite for the format.

Judicasastorsgbgqsdgk:
well yeah i played a green white ramp into elesh norn aswell, but there is 1 7 cost card (karn liberated) in the top 3x75 cards. you could ofcourse count 2 martial coups aswell ^^. In the One before that, the only 2 sevendrops in the top 3 decks are 2 sideboarded battlespheres. In the one before that, no 7 drop at all..

I like it as a format, its just that the 7 seems kinda out of place. I know 6 is to powerfull, but isn't there an alternative?

237 Magic

The rules for 237 on Magic-League are as follows:
Deck construction:

Decks consist of cards with a converted mana cost of two, three, or seven (and basic lands). You can play cards with buyback as long as the original spell has a converted mana cost of two, three, or seven. Concerning split cards, both sides of the card must meet the requirements.

Banned Cards:
* Counterbalance

Non Baisc lands are banned cause to are not coverd by the constraints of the format. Which means they are neiter Basic lands (NO WAY Shocked ) nor hava cmc of 2,3 or 7.
