So a new deck has emerged from the Canadian nationals. It didn't win but after having tested it a few times I really like how it plays.

Creatures
4x grave titan
1x inferno titan
4x primeval titan
4x solemn simulacrum
4x acidic slime

Spells
2x rampant growth
3x pyroclasm
4x sphere of the suns
4x everflowing chalice
3x dismember
1x batterskull
1x beast within

Lands
4x verdant catacombs
4x raging ravine
2x rootbound crag
3x tectonic edge
4x dragonskull summit
2x mountain
3x swamp
3x forest

Sideboard
3x beast within
2x wurmcoil engine
3x nature's claim
4x combust
2x go for the throat

This is the list he played with. The only thing i didn't really like about it was the primeval titans. They seem a little underwhelming in a non-valakut deck. I lowered the count to 2 in my version and replaced them with more inferno titans because they seem to have a greater effect on life totals/board position. I wouldn't mind finding room for urabrask the hidden too but the deck seems pretty tight as is. Any suggestions?

Deck may be consistent, it still couldn't do much vs Valakut and Twin.

Having Black in the deck, beating these decks is as simple as having a dedicated sideboard plan.

Also, I gotta ask: why 4 Primeval Titan? In non-valakut contexts it seens to me that Inferno would be just better, right?

If you woulda read past the decklist he said pretty much the exact same thing. Maybe ask the deck creator? Maybe the deck could use some discard mainboard?

I would take primevil titan out altogether and put in Wurmcoil Engine, but yeah, if you would have read the entire post, you would know that OP switched them out for inferno titans.

I'm pretty sure the only reason the deck's creator had primeval in there in the first place was to fetch tectonic edge for valakut and raging ravine for additional kill.

Why is this better then the deck that actually wins the game most of the time when it resolves a titan?

Why not drop 2 chalice for 2 ubarask? You think 8 2 drop mana ramp spells is not enough? I mean you REALLY only need 1 to get to 6 turn 4..

i'm thinking this might be very solid post rotation
after cutting the old cards i came up with this

4 glissa, the traitor
4 solemn simulacrum
2 urabrask the hidden
3 grave titan
3 inferno titan
3 wurmcoil engine

4 rampant growtn
3 ratchet bomb
4 sphere of the suns
4 dismember

4 blackcleaver cliffs
4 copperline gorge
4 dragonskull summit
6 forest
4 rootbound crag
4 swamp

titan jund looks good, i'll be testing this today on mws.
