Orzhova Fund Raising

1WBB - Enchantment - Rare

At the beggining of your end step you may put a tax counter on target opponent

At the beggining of your upkeep you may pay x, where x is the number of tax counters on target opponent. If you do, that player loses x life and you gain life equal to the amount lost this way, otherwise sacrifice Orzhova Fund Raising.

Doctrines of the Ghost Council 1(w/p)(w/p)(b/p)(b/p)

Artifact (Rare)

Whenever a creature enters the battlefield under your control, your opponents lose 1 life and you gain 1 life.

Whenever a creature enters the battlefield under an opponent's control, that player sacrifices that creature unless he pays (w/p) or (b/p).

Here's a 2 for 1:

Asimov, the eternal hunter BBBBBB

Legendary Creature - Human Assassin

Haunt

When Asimov, the ruthless hunter enters the battlefield or the creature it haunts is put into a graveyard, destroy target non-artifact creature and put a 1/1 black Spirit creature token with flying onto the battlefield.

4/4

In Orzhova, suicide methods vary, but the cause is usually the same: Asimov

In the flavor text I tried to imply that Asimov's targets usually prefer to kill themselves than let their soul be taken by him... dunno if it's clear enough though...

Judging time!!! I'll be grading cards on their playability in both limited

and constructed.

Rb discard a card: look at target players hand and chose a nonland card

from it, that player discards that card.

3/1
"I may have lost my mind, but I have yours to play with now!"

At first glance, this card seems to be a little underpowered. 3/1 seems a

little weak for it to also be legendary. The ability is really good and

fits in nicely with hellbent, although perhaps the RB cost is too much,

maybe just {R/B}? In limited, this would be a nice card if you were

already in Rakdos colors, although once again, it's glass ass makes it

easily removable. In constructed, I'm not sure this would see much play as

it's too slow and disruptable.

2, T: Look at the top card of target opponent's library. If that card is a

creature or land card, you may put it into play under your control with a

+1/+1 counter on it. Play this ability only at any time you could play a

sorcery.

"Interesting specimen. Let's see what it can do."

I'm not sure what I feel about this card. Part of me thinks it's really

overpowered, but then again, that all depends on what you're opponent is

playing. I would call this a first pick in limited and at the very least,

a sideboardable card for constructed (if not maindeck). Good card, but

should cost more/be legendary.

You can't touch this!

Wow, this is a great card, but the part of the ability that returns

Plasmafy to it's hand is just horribly broken, but then again, UR isn't

really that well known for it's aggro, so this may not be that big of a

deal. Definitely great in limited but even better in constructed, if you

can build a good aggro deck around it (Wee Dragonauts ftw, lol).

In Red Deck Wins, giving all my guys +4/+0 and haste seems good. I'm sure

this would be somewhat a bomb in limited and just devastating in

constructed.

9/10, 1 point taken off because...damn, that's just evil

This seems really great for limited. A rarity would be nice, though.

Great Golgari card. Probably wouldn't see too much constructed play, but

really great concept and execution. If you made this a rare or mythic, you

could trim back the ability cost a little and make it more playable.

A 4/4 for 4 is always good, but this also let's you channel the powers of

chaos and hopefully pop something random from your deck onto the

battlefield. I think it's overpowered for the rarity, should probably be a

mythic, but definitely my favorite card so far. Also, really good flavor

text. Hail Eris.

I don't know how I feel about this. Would this see constructed play? I

can say it would be great in Satanic Sligh, where you empty your hand

quickly anyway. And in limited? Good removal that works on multiple

levels...I really don't know if I should be allowed to judge this one.

8.5/10, losing 1.5 points for being too damn suicidal. Also, I think a

better cost would have been RRBB{R/B}, but that's just splitting hairs.

Okay, I have one bone to pick with you....your flavor text. He CAN protect his own, hence his WW ability. At any rate, and bear in mind I just made myself a rather stout white Russian, really strong abilities on a rather strong 4 cmc creature. The double colors do give it a draw back, but I think this may be overpowered. Also, a lack of tapping on the UU ability seems unfair as well, but shouldn't be anything an errant lightning bolt can't remedy.

Okay, but why are YOU paying the tax. I would make it a legendary enchantment where at the beginning of your upkeep, your opponent has to pay X else lose life (and you gain life). Still, really nice concept and the flavor text reminds me a lot of the US government.

Heh, this is great. What can I say? I don't see it being immensely useful in limited, although if I opened it in sealed, why would I not want to play it? I may even grab it in draft if nothing else looked good in the pack.

I guess adding Transmute to him forces you to bump the rarity up from rare to mythic. I would have left that off, but hey, you never know when you're gonna need that mortify or putrefy. Great card, really fits Dimir nicely.

So technically, 6 for a 4/4 and 2 1/1s with evasion. In my estimation, I think this would have been better if it either weren't legendary, or Asimov had some manner of evasion, be it Intimidate, flying, or otherwise.

Also, I just have to ask, does Asimov, the Eternal Hunter have bushy sideburns? Just wondering. I read Foundation and Prelude to Foundation a few years ago and they were really good books (I'm talking about Issac Asimov).

Anywho...

9.133333333/10, -.866666667 for being slightly underpowered, even though he can take out two creatures, which I guess is a good thing, he's still a 6 cmc 4/4 that's only playable in black and has legendary. Also, I assume you meant to make him a rare. He would be terribly underpowered at mythic.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Whew, judging over sirs. After a white Russian and a few cigs, I am pleased to announce the winner of my Steal-a-Card Competition to be Toguppy with their innovative land that takes 60land.dec one step closer to being viable.

Coming in second place is Ikazuchi's Warpling, even though it doesn't have 4-5 activated abilities.

Rounding out third and fourth place is a tie between JayceMoves and Bobdogs, with Bobdogs being slightly ahead of JayceMoves, for both card content and username ( Very Happy ).

Congrats to all and thanks for your submissions!

I may have been slightly toasted last night, lol. I'm gonna give your card a 9.5/10, and it'll be tied for second place. That's some nice designing.

Btw, you've read almost all of his books? That means you've almost read one book in every classification of the Dewey Decimal System. Well done sir!
