When Jace, the fallen sculptor, enters the battlefield, choose two:

Look at the top card of target players library, you may put that card on the bottom of his or her library, Draw three cards and put two cards from your hand on top of your library in any order, or return target permanent to its owner's hand.

4/5

"My power is failing me, I feel so alone." Jace, after rotation.

Jeepers Creepers! That thing is broken! I would give my left nut to have this show up in M12 just so we could have the craziest blue Standard til October. It would be hilarious. A-

The spark long gone. The fury finally settled. The will to fight everlasting.

Very powerful but a little boring. Seems too much like a direct port like Masso's card, but I saw his first. Very Happy B

Gideon the Corrupt 1BBWW

Vigilance, Deathtouch

Prevent all damage that would be dealt to Gideon the Corrupt.

Whenever Gideon the Corrupt attacks a player, during that players next turn creatures attack if able.

6/3
Morals long astray, his prowess in battle never fades

Another almost direct port from walker to creature. Getting pretty bored already. I think adding black and giving it death touch ONLY for the flavour of his name seems really weak when his other 3 abilities are all ports from the original. Not very innovative at all. B-

Lilliana the Betrayer BB2
Legendary Creature- Human Necromancer (Mythic)

You may pay half your life rounded up instead of paying Lilianas manacost.

Whenever Liliana the Betrayed deals combat damage to a player you may return a creature card from a graveyard to the battlefield under your control.

BB: Target player discards a card, you lose life equal to that cards converted mana cost, use this ability only once per turn and only as a sorcery.

3/3

Though the card looks neat, I'm not competent enough to gauge whether this cards complexity is really bad or really broken and as such I don't really like it. Sorry. B-

Whenever a Beast dies, You may draw a card.

"Weakness, a word I frowned upon for all of my life, has become my only companion. Perhaps I can give one last gift..."

2/2

I must say I like the flavour of Garruk becoming a hermit because he's sad he can't warp across dimensions, but all of his abilities just seem really random. No real cohesiveness to them. B-

Very boring. And what do you mean each round? Once every two turns in a 2 player game? Once every 5 turns in a 5 player game? When would the Round start? How would you keep track? Too many questions. Since when is Nissa a Queen? :S F

Anyone notice I added the new text from Magic2012 for "when a creature is put into the graveyard"?

DOH!!!!! You were SO close!!! After reading it the first time I thought its 2nd ability was that when a Planeswalker name Jace left play if it was in your graveyard it would come back into play! That would have been awesome as the card would have really shown him getting smashed so hard he loses his spark. But you decided to use either player for the 2nd ability and didn't go the cool way. Oh well. Props for the name though. C+

Whenever a player taps a land for black mana, put a madness counter on Urza.

At the beginning of your upkeep, if there are fewer than 10 madness counters on Urza, put a 2/2 Metathran token into play.

Whenever Urza attacks, if there are 10 or more madness counters on it, sacrifice two creatures and Urza deals 10 damage to target creature or player.

3/3

Without Barrin's tempering influence, Urza's humanity dwindled as his respect for the Phyrexians grew.

Aside from the "madness" counters being flavourful, all the other abilities seem random and awkward to keep track of. I don't like it. B-

Ok, Judging is done! Sorry that took so long folks. Coming down to a tie for 1st we have Masso with Jace, the fallen sculptor and testbuddy with Jace the Mind Warped.

And the winner is testbuddy because that card is just awesome! Masso gets 2nd and can make the next one if testbuddy doesn't.

Thanks for playing all! Lot of really good cards.

Maybe i was overthinking this.

Jace is a love/hate card for almost everybody, so I figured shifting him to black would be perfect; it's good to be bad.

Jacois wrote:

I started off with a Human Wizard, but he is after brains.

He clearly is broken, even if you only snatch one or two spells but I tried to balance that with color restriction. Choosing an opponent forces you into their color restrictions and explicitly prevents you from designing two decks that support each other.

Writing up the next round in a couple of minutes.
