I hope this is the best place to post this.

This is for the upcoming Ravnica Block Constructed at the local card shop here. I know boros will definitely be there.(I loaned my friend all my good boros cards for his deck).
So I plan on playing Golgari. Here’s what I have.

3 x Dimir House Guard
2 x Carrion Howler
4 x Last Gasp
3 x Golgari Thug
4 x Darkblast
4 x Stinkweed Imp
3 x Carven Caryatid
4 x Golgari Germination
2 x Gogari Grave-Troll
3 x Moldervine Cloak
3 x Golgari Guildmage
2 x Drooling Groodian
9 x Swamp
9 x Forest
4 x Golgari Rot Farm
1 x Svogthos, the Restless Tomb

I think this should have a decent chance. Need help with a sideboard. Cards I have for sure are Shred Memory(For those dame Firemane Angels), Sundering Vitae, and Hex.

Where are the weaknesses of this deck and how can I improve them?

This is mostly for fun but I’d like to last at least a round or two. My biggest fear is the Boros, but I think I should have this under control with the creature removal I have and the Dimir House Guards.

If you suggest putting something new in please explain why and give suggestions as to what to take out. Im still new and learning so explanations as to why your suggestions make this deck better will help me in understanding the game better.

firstly its WAY too early to b thinking of block. usually block tournies dont start till the second set comes out. but since ur card shop is holding a tourney ill help.

ur build is slow. SSSSLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWW. run birds of paradise (if u can) and elves of deep shadow.

heres a sexy list that might b slightly more competative (btu expensive):

10 Forest
5 Swamp
2 Golgari Rot Farm
4 Overgrown Tomb
2 Svogthos, the Restless Tomb
3 Last Gasp
4 Putrefy
3 Golgari Germination
4 Birds of Paradise
3 Elves of Deep Shadow
4 Golgari Guildmage
4 Shambling Shell
3 Carven Caryatid
2 Moldervine Cloak
4 Grave-Shell Scarab
3 Golgari Rotwurm

this list is aggressive with some late game tricks.

its possible to splash white for selesnya guildmage, glare and heirarch. white also gives u faiths fetters and seed spark. it also allows u to play dork confidant with all that life gain...but thats and entirly fdifferent deck that im working on Smile

i dont agree w/ the golgari guildmage. you have no way to abuse its black ability, and its green one is a overcosted pump

Kilomitro - I like the deck list you gave but as you even pointed out its a bit more expensive than what I was looking into. Your'e right its too early for block so thats another reason I'm not spending much money on this. This is just to have a good time playing a few games of magic and hopefully winning occassionally. The one card the really stuck out in your deck and I dont know why I dont have him in mine is the Shambling Shell. I will be adding 4 of those.

ant900 - I myself had been questioning the Guildmage. I dont like to use his black ability much since I can rarely do that and cast the creature same turn. Thats why I like the Golgari Thug in there. He's helped me out numerous times.

Maybe this change will help things a little bit.
- 3 x Dimir House Gaurd
- 2 x Carrion Howler
- 3 x Golgari Guildmage
+ 4 x Shambling Shell
+ 4 x Elves of the Deep Shadow

4 putrefy
4 last gasp
4 disembowel
4 golgari germination
3 hex

4 elf deep shadow
4 golgari rot wurm
4 shambling shell
4 drooling gorgodon(i think thats his name)
3 savra

4 golgari rot farm (land that comes in tapped bounces one and adds a b and a g to your pool)
9 forest
9 swamp

The only reason putrefy isnt in this deck is because I dont have any yet. Im debating still on whether or not Ill buy 4 copies since it is a very nice card. Same goes for Savra except I know Im not buying any copies of her.

I dont understand why you would want to run 3 copies of Hex with some much earlier removal. Hex is a nice card but I just dont see a place for it in the maindeck.

After discussions with some friends of mine and searching other forums Ive become fond of the idea of adding Thoughtpicker Witch. I like the idea of controlling what my opponent will draw. And with the germinations out there I should I have a good supply of creatures at my disposal.

Im not sure how I feel about the Rotwurm. Id much rather have the Witch in there instead. Sure shes a little weenie compared to the Rotwurm but shes got a very nice ability to make up for it. So for now Rotwurm wont be making it to the deck.

I will probably be making room for disembowel. Let me know your thoughts on the Witch.
