Card Name:Gideon Jura
Mana Cost:
Converted Mana Cost:5

Types:Planeswalker — Gideon

:+2: During target opponent's next turn, creatures that player controls attack Gideon Jura if able.

-2: Destroy target tapped creature.

0: Until end of turn, Gideon Jura becomes a 6/6 Human Soldier creature that's still a planeswalker. Prevent all damage that would be dealt to him this turn.
Loyalty:6
Expansion: Rise of the Eldrazi
Rarity:Mythic Rare

this is just an example of a creature with infect

Inkmoth Nexus

land

Card Text T: Add 1 to your mana pool.
1: Inkmoth Nexus becomes a 1/1 Blinkmoth artifact creature with flying and infect until end of turn. It's still a land. (It deals damage to creatures in the form of -1/-1 counters and to players in the form of poison counters.)

here is my question:

having gideon atacking as a 6/6 and the inkmoth blocking,
will the gideon keep the -1/-1 counters after turning back to planeswalker and atacking the next turn like when back in the days u could keep the modular counter on a blinkmoth nexus??

thanks!

if damage is prevented also infect creatures deal no damage and no counters. if a -1/-1 counter is placed on a creature it stays there even if the card changes its type.

Infect only deals damage to creatures in the form of -1/-1 counters and players in the form of poison counters. Vs permanents (like jace) it just does regular damage not counters.

What if an effect states that damage cant be prevented. Then gideon would get -1/-1 counters right?

Correct.

In the case of "Prevent damage" vs "Can't prevent damage". Can't prevent damage wins.

If Everlasting Torment (http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=142036) was in play, Gideon would take damage.

If Gideon is a creature and takes damage from a source with infect or wither (assuming something stops it from being prevented), it both gets -1/-1 counters and loses loyalty counters.
