That was quite easy to elect: Farseer has created a really mythic creature. Ability which did not existed before + could see "play" as a finisher in Elves. The rest are mostly chase Rares and cards that are worse.

Power issues aside, Venser, the Infected is unprintable for more mundane reasons. It has a positive loyalty abilty that is conditional on a certain board state, i.e. there needs to be creatues in play. Compare with the general rule for planeswalkers that the +X ability can always be played.

When designing planeswalkers, you should make sure that the +X ability is playable regardless of the gamestate.


As to the actual critera: Is it not TOO broken and formatdefining? Y/N

As b4il3y notes: "It's darn near the Jace of Infect with 4 abilities"

And we all know how balanced and not format-defining at all Jace, the Mind Sculptor is...

Don't forget: The +0 is actually +1. That is kinda overpowered if you'd ask me.

Didn't know about that +X rule for Planeswalkers, good to know, seems like a good rule.

Magno-: I get the rest of the card being too strong... but, Proliferate for an effective +1 is overpowered?

It used to add more loyalty before I realized it could proliferate itself, which seemed like an elegant design - Proliferate is a pretty situational ability, from what I've seen - although I haven't seen it in constructed.
