mystifying maze is definitely not better than either a swamp or another spell in this deck.

also this deck is not that great, but will probably work for fnm

Run Vampire Nocturnus and Captivating Vampire..Cut down the lands to just swamps probably 23-24 swamps and cut the sludges down to 2-3 no need for sword if your trying to fit the lords in.. Lords greater than sword. And maybe like 3 sign in bloods.The deck has plenty of removal almost would be useless against planeswalker control so I cut some of the removal main. Here is a list that would probably work a little better since lords are great in vampire lists.

// Lands
15 [M11] Swamp (4)
4 [ZEN] Verdant Catacombs
4 [ZEN] Marsh Flats

// Creatures
3 [ZEN] Malakir Bloodwitch
4 [M11] Captivating Vampire
3 [GTW] Vampire Nighthawk
4 [ZEN] Vampire Hexmage
4 [ZEN] Gatekeeper of Malakir
4 [M10] Vampire Nocturnus

// Spells
4 [DDD] Sign in Blood
3 [TO] Mind Sludge
2 [M11] Doom Blade
1 [FNM] Smother
1 [WWK] Urge to Feed
4 [TSP] Tendrils of Corruption

// Sideboard
SB: 4 [ARE] Duress
SB: 2 [ON] Infest
SB: 1 [ROE] Consume the Meek
SB: 1 [M11] Doom Blade
SB: 3 [M11] Corrupt
SB: 3 [M11] Black Knight
SB: 1 [FNM] Smother

depends on his money. I think that's what he's hinting at a lil. You got the rares & nocturnas if not we can make decent subs.

You can't really make decent subs for Nocturnus, and the deck IS better with 8 fetchlands than without - although only marginally.

Without Nocturnus, mono black becomes better and better the more controllish it gets.

which is what I would move toward later once he didn't have the money cards. He's trying to be aggro disruption anyways.

How could you all forget about Bloodghast......He is simply too good not to be in a mono black deck especially Vampires

mystifying maze is a good 1 of. You can slide out your own bloodwitch and drain life them again...

I like black knight. I think its good against naya and UW.

I like the idea of a low curve with the creatures and a higher curve with the spells. I like Corrupt in these decks because it's a pretty good punch in the creature stalls that happen in the naya and mirror matchups, or against anything Monument.

I think its a good list for FN, certainly.
