As a Dredge player I do not understand why people use Crypt/Relic when Ravenous Trap absolutely wrecks the deck, while the artifacts can be played around.

Relic is awful. Ravenous trap can be played around using cabal therapy, but is better then crypt against dredge indeed. However trap does nothing vs reanimator and survival iona/retainers strategies, while crypts is much better there.
Crypt is just better in general as it's unconditional.

My tested naya list:

// Lands
1 Plains
1 Forest
2 Taiga
1 Savannah
3 Plateau
1 Mountain
4 Wooded Foothills
3 Arid Mesa
4 Windswept Heath

// Creatures
4 Wild Nacatl
4 Tarmogoyf
2 Knight of the Reliquary
4 Kird Ape
4 Qasali Pridemage
4 Grim Lavamancer

// Spells
2 Sylvan Library
4 Lightning Bolt
3 Chain Lightning
3 Lightning Helix
4 Path to Exile
2 Price of Progress

// Sideboard
SB: 3 Gaddock Teeg
SB: 3 Tormod's Crypt
SB: 3 Krosan Grip
SB: 2 Umezawa's Jitte
SB: 3 Red Elemental Blast
SB: 1 Pyroblast

Runs great for me. Replace prices with helix and chain if your meta isn't non basic heavy.
