Well basically i am a new player which has played pokemon tcg for about 6 years and now i want to start playing magic. My brother has been playing for years and helped me build my first deck (Jund). I am planning to enter with this deck in the Nationals, but i think that my deck can be still improved. In my area the most popular decks are Jund and some blue white control. The following is my deck list:

Lands 26
4 Savage Lands
3 Verdant Catacombs
3 Raging Ravine
3 Dragonskull Summit
3 Rootbound Crag
3 Forest
3 Swamp
3 Mountain
1 Lavaclaw Reaches

Creatures 14
4 Bloodbraid Elf
4 Putrid Leech
4 Sprouting Thrinax
2 Broodmate Dragon

Sorcery 7
4 Blightning
3 Maelstorm Pulse

Instant 10
4 Lightning Bolt
3 Terminate
3 Bituminous Blast

Planeswalkers 3
2 Garruk Wildspeaker
1 Sharkan the Mad

Sideboard 15
4 Deadmark
3 Goblin Ruinblaster
2 Great Stable Stag
2 Jund Charm
2 Mind Rot
2 Duress

I really appriciate any help, thanks everyone.

- Deathmark, should replace with doom blades. Instant speed removal is a lot better of conscription and rdw
- Great Stable Stag, remove. No worth it anymore.
- 2 mind rots, probably not it anymore in the current meta
- Broodmate Dragon, remove
- Garruk, remove

Cards to think about
- Obstinate blaloth, great in mirrors
- Up your duress count to 4, great vs u/w
- Grave titan, havn't tested him, but he is definitely better than Broodmate
- Abyssal Persecutor, great vs mirror, u/w and rdw
- Goblin siege-gang commander, great vs u/w

you must not get hit by spreading seas much....

2 prophetic prism is needed in SB expect alot of control with spreading seas and mana leak...

oh and to TC idk if id run garruk in jund, doesnt seem needed.

if you want to play classical versino of jund i would suggest:

4 raging ravines
1 - 2 lavaclaw reaches

0 broodmate dragons
2 - 3 siege-gang commanders
0 - 1 grave titan

0 garruks
1 - 2 sarkhan the mad

4 maelstrom pulse
2 terminate

and in SB:

4 doom blades instead of deathmarks
4 goblin ruinblasters
2 - 3 cunning sparkmages

if you expect control then some duressses and/or prophetic prisms

obstinate baloth might be also fine in sb, against mirror and rdw

but note that after m11, jund might not be good enough

lol, bloodwitch sucks? I'll play it MD 2x without fear: vs uw/uwr/uwb control it wins alone, it's great vs any bant and naya, vs monoR it's not the nuts, but it gain one life and blocks a hell's thunder, in the mirror it's a 4/4 flying for five mana, but if you've ever played a mirror of jund you know how much games you win with broodmate dragon or sarkhan just because you've some flier and your opponet has not. It does nothin' against ramp decks, obvs.

Malakir Bloodwitch does not win the game alone vs. UW or UWr, that's for sure! I've played the matchup enough to say that. But it's quite good nonetheless and in a meta with lots of UW and UWr can be played maindeck.

I was never a big fan of Persecutor as it is completely clunky and loses you the game more often than you would think.

Prophetic Prism is prettygood vs Spreading Seas and definitely can find room in the sideboard. Anyone who says it's bad has obviously not played the matchup UW vs Jund before. The best way to beat Jund is to prevent them from playing their spells or at least slow them down considerably which is often enough to overpower them later.

Vengevine does suck and will ever suck in a Jund deck. There is not way to abuse it the way you need to make it effective in that deck. You either have too few creatures or they are too expensive to play two in one turn, or you played them in turn two and three...

fLn's list looks really solid. I agree with almost all of it, including the 27 lands and 8 manlands.

I don't like Goblin Ruinblaster as much as most people. People say you need it for the mirror. But modern Jund decks play 26-27 lands, and the mirror is almost always a battle of attrition rather than a race.

My problem with Abyssal Persecutor is that the body would be nice in the mirror, but I feel like I have to board it out since I take out Pulses. I usually take out Terminates too, but if I have Persecutor then I have to take out Bolt, which I feel is somewhat worse (partially bc of empty board cascades). I also take out Pulses vs RDW. But again, I don't really want to board out my 6/6.

I definitely want to try Grave Titan. I think he could be the fattie you want. Not a huge fan of Siege-Gang.

For the SB I like Doom Blade>Deathmark and Slave of Bolas and Overgrown Battlement for the mirror. 2 Pithing Needle for planeswalkers and maybe cut Sparkmages for Pyroclasms (better vs UG Turboland).
