I feel like some improvement from the league would be helpful Very Happy!

// Lands
7 [ALA] Forest (1)
7 [EVG] Mountain (2)
2 [ZEN] Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle
4 [WWK] Raging Ravine
4 [H09] Rootbound Crag

// Creatures
4 [R] Llanowar Elves
3 [ROE] Nest Invader
4 [M11] Mitotic Slime
4 [M11] Inferno Titan
4 [M11] Obstinate Baloth
4 [M11] Primeval Titan

// Spells
2 [TE] Harrow
4 [4E] Lightning Bolt
3 [ZEN] Summoning Trap
4 [M11] Cultivate

// Sideboard
SB: 4 [6E] Fog
SB: 2 [WWK] Nature's Claim
SB: 1 [ROE] Emrakul, the Aeons Torn
SB: 4 [M11] Plummet
SB: 4 [M11] Autumn's Veil

My sideboard is geared towards the U and/or W matchup. The maindeck is geared towards stopping aggro. I'm considering: avenger of zendikar, vengevine in sb, more valakut.
One request: only cards that are legal post-October rotation. (no alara or m10)

I'm listening to Mastodon. Blood Mountain.

Interesting concept... I wanna give it a whirl =)

Although I'm not a big fan of mitotic slime. It is anti-aggro... but it;s a five drop. If you want a five drop, maybe acidic slime. Perhaps replace it with Garruk, for more ramp? Or maybe Overgrowth Battlement (also anti-aggro, provides mana for your S-trap backup)?

Look, here is the mental reasoning:
start with G manabase (i start most of my decks mono)
fill it with "good" cards
experiment playtests
add what i need in other colors (in this case it was red)

Valakut is rarely, if ever, the sole win condition. thopterdepths, for instance, rarely wins off of just a hexmage/depths, but the wincon is still there. valakut ramp has like...2 wins cons (avenger of zendikar notwithstanding) which are red DD and valakut.

which leads me to comment on:

idk if its luck or how we play...
i loved this deck...

my deck mains obstinate and mitotic slime, both of which severly hinder rdw. not to mention a few early nest invaders and fog after sideboard (usually makes a devestatingS moot). Mitotic alone usually halts jund unless they can get a broodmate.

I might add some garruk love too, but my real worry is any control mu. There is just no way to accurately test those w/o another person and my playtesters all have work schedules that conflict with my own. meh.

tl;dr No reason to JUST run valakut when i can win with other shit.

Never mind, thought this was about RG Valakut saw that its RG Aggro, which whenever I think about RG I think Valakut or RG Monument or RG Eldrazi, but RG aggro doesn't seem to make the cut. Good Luck
