I think u have to much removal and to less creatures/win options. I would cut 1 bold/terminate/treasure hunt and add 3 malakirs, since they are decent against the other control decks, you might have problems with. The sb looks pretty shappy imo. I see no need for a 4th AiD and i have no clue what the swerves are for. Also the 4 burst lightnings seem just too much considering you maindeck removal.

Swerve for Mind Sludge / Blightning / Counters
Burst Lightning for fast decks cuz I need fast removal

all is dust is alright in board for superfriends

I played grixis on Saturday's ptq, really liked the specters
and spreading seas with fateseal jace is fun times.

vs Some decks 1 by 1 removal just doesn't cut it... and now Cruel got a decent answer to PW's

Cruel control hasn't been good at any point since Zendikar block rotated into standard.

I think the fact that only 5 people made day 2 at GP D.C. playing it is more than sufficient evidence that it sucks. It's not even tier 2 quality with those win percentages.

This is my current decklist:

4 Arcane Sanctum
4 Crumbling Necropolis
1 Marsh Flats
1 Arid Mesa
2 Scalding Tarn
1 Plains
2 Swamp
2 Mountain
3 Island
2 Rupture Spire
1 Creeping Tar Pit
1 Celestial Colonnade
1 Jace Beleren
1 Sphinx of Jwar Isle
3 Sphinx of Lost Truths
4 Ponder
3 Offering to Asha
3 Double Negative
4 Esper Charm
2 Cruel Ultimatum
1 Identity Crisis
2 Ajani Vengeant
3 Day of Judgment
4 Path to Exile
1 All is Dust
1 Obelisk of Alara
1 Magma Phoenix
2 Consume the Meek

Sideboard:

4 Kor Firewalker
2 Deathmark
1 Emrakul, the Aeons Torn
2 Smother
3 Celestial Purge
3 Flashfreeze

Now I already know what people are thinking: "No Jace, the MS and no Baneslayer? gtfo."
Well, my main problem is that those are both fairly expensive, and I have a wife/kids to support, lol. As a result, I've been forced to find alternatives. If you've got those cards, I would go;

-2 Ajani Vengeant
-1 Jace Beleren
+3 Jace, the MS

Do what you want for the baneslayer, lol.

Anyway, this current build of the list has been doing pretty good at FNMs, taking down Jund and Naya with some ease in games 2 and 3. Game 1 is basically if you can draw into removal early enough to keep yourself stabilized. The only times I've had problems pulling out wins, has been against mill-fog (not really a top deck though nowadays). Just because like...half of my deck becomes dead cards at that point.

But anyway, yeah. This is just the list that I'm currently piloting.

absorb was so sweet

That's why i can't play UW now. Every time i pick it up, i remember a deck with absorb, counterspell, fact or fiction and accumulated knowledge that was 2 times more powerful and 4 times cheaper...

As for Grixis, i've been testing it for awhile, and now my decklist looks like this:

// Lands
2 [WWK] Creeping Tar Pit
4 [ALA] Crumbling Necropolis
3 [M10] Dragonskull Summit
3 [M10] Drowned Catacomb
4 [ZEN] Island (2)
2 [WWK] Lavaclaw Reaches
2 [ZEN] Mountain (2)
2 [ZEN] Scalding Tarn
4 [ZEN] Swamp (4)

// Creatures
4 [ALA] Sedraxis Specter
4 [WWK] Calcite Snapper
2 [ZEN] Malakir Bloodwitch
2 [ZEN] Sphinx of Jwar Isle

// Spells
4 [A] Lightning Bolt
4 [ZEN] Spreading Seas
3 [FNM] Terminate
3 [ZEN] Into the Roil
3 [ALA] Cruel Ultimatum
3 [WWK] Jace, the Mind Sculptor
2 [ROE] Deprive

// Sideboard
SB: 1 [ZEN] Malakir Bloodwitch
SB: 2 [ARB] Thought Hemorrhage
SB: 3 [M10] Flashfreeze
SB: 3 [M10] Negate
SB: 2 [ALA] Swerve
SB: 1 [LRW] Jace Beleren
SB: 3 [10E] Deathmark

I'll stop by some card choices.
Malakir Bloodwitches main are awesome, so good at owning UW and Bant, and decent with Jund.
Into the Roils have also been quite good vs anything, especially in combo with Sedraxis Spectres.
Deprive never was unwanted, and it's best at getting rid of those !@#$ Spreading Seas, while countering their Jace or whatelse.
I didn't like Consuming Vapors much, as it's ineffective vs both UW and Jund, and i rather have more targeted removal vs Bant and Naya.
I used to play Abyssal Persecutors instead of Calcite Snappers, but it turned out that Snappers are sometimes much bigger threat, especially to controllish decks.
