Competitive = 10-20 ppl FNMs for lots of people. What is competitive there is everything that works the way the creator intends it to work. Also, some magic players builds decks that are fun to play with even though they know it won't win the local store tournament. Others can't afford the best decks, or eventually, like me, realizes that it is pointless using hundreds of dollars on a deck which is not going to be the one I take to Nationals.

No-one thought UG Polymorph was even a tier 2 deck until this last month. This is why the Standard deck forum here on M-L should help people realize their deck ideas, or, if it is one that does not work, help them realize that.

That's not a valid argument at all, polymorph is really only good because emrakul, jace and awakening zone became cards. That'd be like saying Oh man they came out with a rigger that is a 5/5 haste for RRR good thing people made all those steamflogger boss decks way back when otherwise we would not know what to do with this card

Same can be said about natural order, which until progenitus came along, was like a 5 dollar casual card.

The point is, what is "junk" changes over time. The casual forum doesn't work because it is pointless giving feedback to a deck so that it becomes better, when the goal of the deck is not (necessarily) to win. Moving what is deemed "junk" there from the Standard forum according to the posting rules would therefore shut down the forums.
