omnath + canopy cover + savage silhouette

if you were to build a deck with 4 copies of each of these (all strong cards on their own), then you'll have every possibility of grabbing a win from out of nowhere.

mono green seems to be getting strong recently, and this possible win-con seems to push that strength even further.

once you get him out and enchanted like so, he can rarely be blocked, and all he has to do is get a little weaker to stay alive. you retain card advantage by drawing and drawing as he's forced to lose creatures or tons of life as he's trying to get rid of that pesky troll shroud.

if he does get out of the situation, you'll, at worst, have caused him to waste quality kill (mealstrom pulse comes to mind, plus another kill for the omnath), in a lot of situations, cause your opponent to lose a lot of momentum while you've been stocking lands and cards in hand, and at best you'll win the game before they can recover.

combine it with other green cards that will help (either for the mana ramp or additional drops that'll benefit from the enchantments) and I think you'll have a very viable deck on your hands.

Until you run into someone playing emeria angel or eldrazi. Creature based combos are pretty sketchy with all the removal floating around. Auras just set you up for 2 for 1s.

Cruel Ultimatum is a one card combo that almost wins you the game.

Trust me, I miss silhana ledgewalker a bunch too, but I doubt that combo will see play with all of the removal going around.

if you play it carefully, and manage to get all the stuff equipped, i'm saying.

remember canopy cover? they can't target it.
savage silhouette? can regenerate from a DoJ.

how do you plan on killing it?

gatekeeper may get that from you, true, but if you're facing vampires, you're not likely to face mass removal, and it'll be safe to have other cards as a sacrificial buffer.

I would just kill you instead, because instead of playing crappy cards, I would just play good ones.

New players have always loved the "creature + enhancements = uber creature" strategy.

WOTC gonna ban instants too in addition to pulling all the good instant card draw and counters out of the game?

i'm not really saying that i'd stuff the deck with enchantments... just those two.

for one, they make any creature they enchant better, so they're not limited to that one creature. it's just convenient if you happen to have the right cards in hand.

also, you generally don't make risky plays when your opponent can obviously respond and destroy your strategy...
