Comet Storm X RR

Instant Mythic Rare

Multikicker 1 (You may pay an additional 1 as you play this spell as many times as you choose.)

Choose target creature or player, then choose another target creature or player for each time Comet Storm was kicked. Comet Storm then deals X damage to each of them.

What about it?

much better than fireball, besides the instant.

6 mana, 2 targets

Fireball: 2 dmg each, 4 total
Comet Storm: 3 dmg each, 6 total

Cards going to be great with ramp decks.

Comet Storm is practically a worse version of Earthquake. And if i need a board sweeper in ramp, I'm playing Lavalanche. Not sure why we're getting all these damage-based board sweepers lately.

your comparing cards that arent played in constructed to another card that wont be played in constructed. yes lavalanche is more powerful, but no deck will play it. darksteel collosus is more powerful than wild nacatl.

Yeah I dont think this card was built with constructed in mind. Not sure why draft needs a red boost though. Whens the last time someone drafted and was pissed they had to go black/red?

I was thinking the same thing, but at mythic rare it's not exactly going to have a huge impact.

I think this card will be like volcanic fallout, its only slightly better then earthquake (instant speed, targeted, flyers too, but more expensive), but in the right hands it can be a powerhouse.

Dont forget you dont have to kicker it, its still an instant fireball.

Because of Wizards trying to make Regenerate abilities relevant again.

I honestly thought we were gonna see a rise in regeneration in Zendikar, because so much of Standard's removal doesn't get around it. River Boa and Cudgel Troll aside, I guess we're waiting until Worldwake/Eldrazi to see if this is just a coincidence or not.

There are more specialized cards that serve every possible function of this card in standard right now.

Banefire goes to the dome in a superior manner/kills a single target better.

Earthquake sweeps the board better.

There is nothing about this card that merits it seeing play in anything other than block constructed and limited.
