final fantasy 7: advent children is a movie that you can now but on ur psp and dvd. if u haven't downloaded it yet or bought it's a must-have if you love ff7. but ezarc square enix said that they will make spin-offs for the game (like ff7 snowboarding on mobile phones) or put the characters in other games (ff: tactics) but they will probably not remake that game. look at the japan show (not too sure if the trailer was at e3, but if it is look there also) and they say that it's a trailer only (the trailer is the opening movie of ff7, with ps3 graphics...VERY BEAUTIFUL if you haven't seen it yet) and they have no plans to make the game. sorry

im holding out for the ps3. the xbox had a plethora of racing, fighting and sports games, but offered very little in terms of variety. its kinda like y every 1 bought the bameboy color a few years back, its was for pokemon. ppl bought the xbox for....halo....and..............halo 2. i noe there r many great games for the xbox, its just that it lacks in variety as opposed to the ps2.
with that said im assuming the same would b true for the ps3.
on a side note id liek to say that microsoft is marketing the xbox horrendiously! they have all these little online features for ppl who dabble in games (if u saw e 3 u noe what i mean).
as for nintendo all they have are fanboys who cant let go of the snes days and the games that have been around 4 ever like zelda, metroid, various mario games and the random game thats that no one expected to b good. w/o those titles nintendo would only have handheld consoles to fall back on.
but im rambling........... |

your wrong, but its ok |
Actually, He's right Ezarc...and also partially wrong. Nomura never said that he will or will not remake VII, he did however say that when all of his current "jobs" are completed that he will seriously think about remaking VII for the PS3. Dont believe me, just watch this:

The first 4 minutes are about Kingdom Hearts 2 but fast-forward to about 4:25 and the interview will start talking about the remake. |

Yeah, no FF7...
You know, my all-time favorite game was FFT, and I really wish they would make a sequel. Obviously, they won't... |

Nomoura (or however you spell it) just stated that he has no time to make a sequel to FF7, but also said that if the company approaches him with this, he'll be more than happy to create the follow up.
Also, PS3 > all other systems on the market... |

I'm quite surprised that no one did the recent research to discover that XBox is getting some rights to Final Fantasy soon, while Sony, on the other hand, is getting none. Thus, from what I'm hearing, at least for a little while, Final Fantasy may be going the direction of XBox. This is a HUGE disappointment to me as a Role Playing kind of person, as I bought my PS2 because so many good RPGs were on the PS.
My friend, who works at a local Gamestop, managed to get ahold of an XBox 360 and bought PDZ in addition to Madden '06. He also bought Call of Duty 2. After playing PDZ on his home console for a while, he declared it to absolutely suck. Essentially, it was a remake of Golden Eye with nicer graphics, which even then were choppy at times. Personally, I found it hilarious that on such an advanced system, the characters kind of laid down when they were killed, instead of being knocked around at all. And don't even get me started on the ziplines in multiplayer... To be honest, the only thing I've seen interesting about the 360 is the minigame Hexic that it comes with. Seriously, so far XBox 360 looks like it's all hype, showing off its graphics at this point, and won't be anywhere near decent for about a year. Then again, that's probably true for most of the systems.
Oh, and before I forget... of all the games that he has taken out or bought for the 360, which include PDZ, Call of Duty, Madden '06, and Quake 4, he still is playing Halo 2 the most. Yea, the reverse compatibility.
For the original question, I'm gonna hold out and see what's actually out there... I'm a college student, so money is tight in the first place, plus I play RPGs... I haven't even taken the plastic off of Star Ocean 3 yet, and I'm still addicted to FFX when I restarted it in the opening of the Fall quarter, and plan to be addicted to Xenosaga 1 when I get back, and then Star Ocean, interrupted with Soul Calibur, SSBM at the Electronic Gaming Society, and the interesting form of exercise, DDR. Point being, there's tons of good games out there already. I own a gamecube at home, mainly for the power titles, and was mostly disappointed. I've played all 3 systems of this particular round, and I'd say PS2 came out on top for me, particularly as the only thing that stuck out to me as an amazing game for the XBox was Morrowind, which I have for my PC, and the hardcore failure of RPG attempts on the gamecube, with the exception of Tales of Symphonia (again, another game on my list to play), and, depending on your tastes, Skies of Arcadia. Simple characters and dialogue, but if you can get past that there's a lot of depth there. It's worth a shot for any RPG fan with a gc, in my opinion...
OK, main point that I started with here was that FF is going to Xbox. What a shame. Sorry for rambling a bit, but I feel it all still applies. |

FF12 will be for PS2,
FF13 will be for X-Box
14 for PS3
X-Box got some rights to it, but doubt that will last long. Sony Fanboys are too strong. |

| i most likely will not buy any of these. however, if i was forced to, i would pick the Nintendo Revolution. the x-box 360 and ps3, while they look beautiful, do not look THAT much better than the x-box and ps2 (not even close to the leap between n64/playstation and x-box/ps2). so i wouldn't spend an extra $300 just for somewhat better graphics. however, the Nintendo Revolution could have some really cool stuff, graphics aside, that i would like to experience if i was forced to buy a game system. |

After Being royaly screwed by anything windows/microsoft... I will never buy anything "upgraded" from them, and if i do there will prob be a good perpose, anyways... X-box i always thought was trash ever since i played with my cousin's in D&D Heros, which at the time was a fun game, and for some reason, later in the game we reached a part where it was like ~88% lag the whole time,
we called a help line going "WTF ur product is lagging" they said that we where and i quote "Liars and should not being saying things about our product without a more valid reason"
Ever since that I stoped buying anything windows/microsoft... IMO we are only making the possibly richest man richer, and he does jack all to help us, the only thing he does is make all ready installed virus in to the Windows Programs..
In the end, my vote is PS3 all the way, me and my bro-in-law hard core FF fans and cant wait for the better graphic, the only problem is that for some reason i always think its going to be 8-bit, thats what happens when u play FF on SNES on ur comp to much |

^ is D&D Heroes even made by Microsoft? sometimes the problem lies in the game, rather than in the system. if half-life caused your computer to crash every time you played it, would you automatically assume it was microsoft/dell's (or whoever makes your computer) fault? or could valve possibly be the culprit?
either way, how can your experience with one game (not made by the company in question, but rather by Infogrames) cause you to refuse to buy anything from a company that may otherwise release quality software? |
