it would be cool to see one following the Urza/Phyrexia storyline and i'd even be cool to see a trilogy of films to follow the Odyssey and Onslaught storylines....but of all I would really like to see a movie about Chainer the Dementia Master cuz he was the shit, maybe throw a little Braids off in there...oh yeah

You can't have any of that without the Thran Wars. I mean without Yagwmoth there would be no phyxeria, no Urza, no nothing.

I like Vito's idea. Urza/Phyrexia would be awesome.

Yeah, place it around either Phyrexian or Thran conflicts, and it'd be nice. As long as someone competent made it.

Christopher Walken, Planeswalker RG2

Planeswalker - Walken

+1 Be cool.

-1 Be really cool.

-7 Drop all the ladies pants due to being overly cool.

//8

A movie could be made based on this concept, right?

Hell No.

I don't play magic for the story. I play it because I find it a very interesting strategy game.

I'm not sure which of these sounds less appealing:

Having a movie about a tournament IRL in a mainstream media outlet (like the old ESPN Pro Tours but in a movie theater) *I might like this, but it would surely be a financial disaster*

Having it about fiction players in a fictional tournament (like Yugioh)

Having it being a fantasy film exclusively about the stories of magic and not even acknowledging it as a CCG (like D&D movies)

well here's my take on that

it should definitely be based on the storylines. it would be possible to incorporate the TCG itself into the movie as a background sort of easter egg or something but that's entirely up to whoever.

CGI would be cool b/c you can definitely do alot more stuff as far as creatures and such but i don't care much for the format when it comes to epic films such as the Magic movies would have to be then it should be an actual movie instead of CGI.

now that being said it should also be split the way the Star Wars movies were split (maybe not so far apart tho) and do a massive trilogy following what happened after the Brother's War up to the Apocalypse finale of the Phyrexian Invasion. Then warranted on the fan basis and random polls or whatever it would have to be discussed whether to do a prequel trilogy of the thran wars up to Urza's destruction of Argoth...or it could be a sequel following the Kamahl/Chainer storyline and going up to the end of the onslaught cycle storylines.

personally i'd like to see the prequel of thran wars up to the finale of the Brother's War. but it would be cool to see a CGI version of the Odyssey block storylines and even up to the end of the Onslaught block.

another personal note...i've always loved the stories that accompanied the cards. they make the game more enjoyable in my opinion. gives you the real feel of what the whole planeswalker aspect of the game is besides just another card in a deck. i dig it.
