1 of with 24 land replacing a forest or 2 with 25 land replacing forest and a non-land.
Thoughts?
It seems good, in theory. Making all of your sap tokens 2/2 after a wrath, making your putrid leech potentially 5/5 against the jund mirror, 4/4 sable stag is virtually unkillable by jund (2 bolts or BBE + bolt).
It seems like it should work, in theory. Yet I've seen it tried on a few deck lists in trials and it fails. Lately, nobody has been trying it in their jund list, even as a 1 of. |

I like one main deck with 24 land and sable stags over Garruk. If I were running 25 land with Garruk + 3 broodmates I'd consider running 2 main.
But that's just my opinion, nobody seems to be trying it and I wonder why. I am seeking out the opinions of the illustrious Magic-Online community on this one.
1. It is a CITP tapped land, always. Potential to mess up your curve.
2. It, unlike the forest it replaces, doesn't allow your rootbound crags to CITP untapped.
Is this enough to throw off the deck? Maybe in a long tournament. I normally only play 3 to 5 rounds of swiss, so you might hope for some good luck in that time. |

Oran-Reif is insane when it does what it can do in Jund. It tends to make Bloodbraid Elf plus a Stag/Leech/Thrinax bigger, a constant stream of 4/4 beasts off Garruk, or you get 9 power of dragons off of Broodmate Dragon. However, it comes into play tapped and does not count towards Rootbound Crag.
Basically, you have to ask yourself: do you want to trade a bit of mana consistency for chances of making your creatures better? Remember that EVERY creature Jund plays can get pumped by Oran-Reif. |

Yea, in theory it should be good.
So why don't people play it?
I'm gonna run 2 in a 25 land sable stags over Garruk version tonight - my Garruk's don't get here until tomorrow . 3 2/2 saproling tokens is mighty sweet after a day of judgment. |

I've had one in my Jund deck since standard rotated. Having an extra cipt land is a bit iffy and I don't know if it's optimal, but the synergy is awesome. People keep talking about putting counters on Leeches and Garruk beasts, which is fine and dandy, but what it's REALLY for is pumping up the tokens your Thrinax makes upon death.
I remember one game where I attacked with Thrinax, Pulsed it myself afterward, Oran-Rief'd the tokens, then attacked past his blocker the next turn for the win. People are reluctant to kill the Thrinax as it is, but with an untapped Oran-Rief in play he's untouchable. |

Well.
Generally when I have it, either it's a win-more card or I lose anyway (stabilized control with Sphinx on the board).
Other times, it screws up my ability to curve out correctly.
My personal conclusion is that you should run 0 or at most 1 out of 25 land. |
