Well I was waiting for somone to post this topic but suprisingly nobody did So Here it is........

Xbox 360 is out already and is now the hottest electronic item on the market ipod is right under it. As most of us know the Playstation 3 is goin to be released in the spring 2006, And theres Nintendo's new system which for now they're calling Nintendo "Revolution" is coming out in 2006. So now the question is which is the best?

While we still know very little about Nintendo "Revolution" A comparison with the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3 can be found here: http://hardware.gamespot.com/Sony-PlayStation-3-C-15015-x-4-4
I was looking at both of them and it seems like for the intense gamer Xbox 360 is the better system, But for relaxed gamers like me who like to play with thier friends I think the PS3 is the right system. The Xbox 360 came out earlier and those real intense gamers are gonna be really into it, The PS3 is coming out later and Many people don't mind waiting. The things I liked most about the PS3 is the choice to connect 7 controlers and Backwards Compatibility, The Xbox has a standard 4 controllers but its Backward Compatiblilty is very limited which really sucks. If you look at the Basic Specs it seems like Xbox 360 is a bit stronger system, But PS3 does have some stronger points. The thing that really pissed me off is the Xbox 360 VS the Xbox 360 Core System, Basically Microsoft released two versions of the system there is the The Xbox 360 Core System which comes with basic attachments and is a piece of shit which was made to rip off old grandmothers who think they're buying their grandchildren what they want and are saving money. And theres the Xbox 360 Which Comes with a Hard Drive, Headset, Wireless Controller, Ethernet Cable and Component HD AV Cable (I don't know what that is but the core system doesn't have it). Anyone who wants to really enjoy their system will want the Hard Drive and if they want to use internet theyr'e gonna have to buy the ethernet cable anyway, And wireless controllers are so much more sexy then wired ones.
Very little is known about the Nintendo "Revolution" except what it looks like which could be seen here:
http://www.nintendo.com/revolution
Most people who look at this their first reaction would be "wtf is with the controller?" Yes, sadly that is what the controller looks like a fucking remote control, It does have one actually very cool thing about it which is it responds to motion So lets say your playing a sword fighting game you can actually swing the sword in whatever direction you swing the controller in, This is extremely cool but after a while your gonna get tired of swinging the control all day. A friend told me that they're gonna come out with another controller thats more simple to use But this might not be true hopefully it is. Is great games like Mario, Mario Kart and Supersmash brothers gonna be ruined by this controller we'll have to wait and see.

On a personal note I own a PS2 and I have only 4 games Sad
Mainly this is because I mostly enjoy Multiplayer games like NBA Street and Blitz, I mostly use my sisters gamecube to play Mario Kart (Which I'll own anyone in Very Happy) and Supersmash Brothers with friends. But don't think that I made everything I said up cause I don't own alot of games or play really hard games, I did research on the systems and Game Informer comes to my house (But i think my subscription ended Sad) I'm kinda more interested in seeing what games are gonna come out then actually playing them.

Please Share Your Views on the subject and if theres anything you would like to add or correct please let me know. And don't forget to vote on the poll Razz.

By far is I had to rate the coolest game system coming out it would be the Nintendo Revoultion. Its entire new system of controllers and machine idead is fucking genious. Similar to the DS the system promises a new style of games.

But the one I'm getting is the PS3. With a brand new remade FF7 comin plus other FFs, I'd say Sony will always be the god of games.

Well, PS2 had a huge leap in the market before the other systems, so they accumulated more fans/fanboys in a shorter time, so PS3 and X-box360 is gonna come down to fanboys and the top games cause in this generation, graphix are gonna be a non issue cause all systems are powerful. Remember, back in 2000 sony lying about PS2 bieng worlds beyond dreamcast which it infact was not and it did not have suppost for online and all the junk they said. X-box was pretty by the book as they didnt have the time to build a big hype machine for the first outing....it was now or never. Revolution should be the shiz, but we must see. Other than that, the console wars are gonna work on hype now, seeing as how sony now is gonna(but i dont think they have to) hype their system to the brim if 360 has an inkling of runaway success, while nintendo plots to overthrow them much like it did atari. In the end, Sega had a raw deal, and the current/new gens are hype. Anyone who buys systems and bashes others present them selves as system whores, and must realize ALL systems have something to offer.

How about a "None of the Above" option, because I have given up on the future of video games. Why should I pay hundreds of dollars for elegant graphics and stupid gizmoes when the truly great games have already been made? The industry wants you to think that whenever a newer, fancier thing is released, that you have to buy it. Why? because it's newer! and fancier! What makes the wallet-burning release title superior to a gem found in a bargain bin? When you consider the lack of ingenuity and originality in games today, the answer shows true. It's definitely not as if you've played every video game for every previous system and need something else - It's that you prematurely desert each video game "generation" because capitalism's cronies tells you to. Try this: pick up a Playstation, Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy Tactics, and Metal Gear Solid. You could try a Nintendo 64, Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Jet Force Gemini(that's right), and GoldenEye. Find a Sega Dreamcast or Genesis, an SNES or NES, or an Atari 2600, and a few of the grand old games that exist for it. You don't need to empty your wallet to have an excellent gaming experience.

You could have made the same argument a couple of years ago but you still would be wrong... yes all those games you mentioned are great ( I own most of them) but as years go by more great games will be made you cant say it wont happne cuz in that case you would be saying there is no such thing as progress, and as for the best system it comes down to preference in games I was a PS fanboy until I first played Halo I loved it soo much I sold a crap load of Magic cards and got an X-Box the next week. IM probly gonna get the PS3 when it comes out and latter donw the road an X-box once price drops. The revolution seems cool but hey so did the Gamecube and we know how great that system is Rolling Eyes .

ANY HARDCORE GAMER WILL GET AT LEAST THE PS3 AND THE XBOX360.

I am buying a Revolution as my next game system. My previous system was a Playstation One.

Why? Access to pretty much every great Nintendo game ever. I want to play the full gamut of Metroid, Legend of Zelda, and Mario games on one system.

And about the controller:

Quote:
An expansion port on the bottom of the controller gives it extra flexibility. At the show, Iwata demonstrated a second controller piece that you hold in your other hand, boasting an Analog stick and two additional trigger buttons. This configuration was referred to as the “nunchuku-style” controller. The port could also be used to transform the unit into a more traditional controller for classic-style games (including multiplatform titles). The controller is also wireless, of course, and features built-in rumble functionality.

I am quite impressed with the new controller.

Well PS3 is my first pick. (I just don't like X-box) my second pick obv revolution i would probally rent it to try some of the games and if i liked i might buy it. Reasons why i'd get a 360 is because of Gears of War and Full Auto.

personally, i am going to trade in my gamecube and all my games when the PS3 comes out, mostly because all the best rpgs (besides tales of symphonia, which fuckin rocked) come out on playstation systems. i am a total rpg player, so that will be awesome. I especially cant wait for the new FF7 game to come out because i have never played the original. Crying or Very sad
also, because of backwards compatibility i will be able to play soul caliber 3, which just came out for PS2 and not for GC. i played it at a friend's house and it is awesome. That's all i have to say. PS3 forever.

Revoultion shows to be an awsome game system. Plus the idea that you can trade any Super Nintendo for Revoultion versions is kickass. It basically says that Revoultion is going into the war swinging with all of its guns, even the old ones.

"But the one I'm getting is the PS3. With a brand new remade FF7 comin plus other FFs, I'd say Sony will always be the god of games."-Ezarc

First off, show me one piece of evidence that says there will DEFINETLY be a remake. Next, I will be getting a PS3 even if FFVII doesnt get remade, it's just a great system with great games (PS2). The backwards compatibility is the "shoe-in" for me.

I'm almost positive that most of the games for every next-gen console will suck for about the first year. One game I'm kind of looking forward to is Warhawk, that game was really good for the original PS and it's being remade for the PS3. So, yeah, thats my schtick on the whole next-gen console discussion. PEACE!!!

OK, Game Cube was good. Online SSB is too much to pass up... Go Revolution!

I also heard the revolution will have a "Duck Hunt" type attachment for 1st-person shooter games. (or some type of shooter)

Sorry to say this and all (hurts me more to say this Crying or Very sad ) but final fantasy 7 will not be remade on playstation 3. they made a trailer to the game because they knew that ff7 is the MOST anticipated sequel EVER!!! they really wanted to show off the graphics of the system and what to use other than, yep you said it, FINAL FANTASY 7. i think that was an amazing selling point to sony to use the imagination of all us cloud and sephiroth (and a next-gen tifa...yummy) fans. and again i'm sorry that i had to tell everyone that.
