Okay there are a few things im on the fence with this design, first of all, Cobra/harrow or Birds harrow? opening hand of cobra harrow leaves turn 2 empty but turn 3 with 6 mana (for sphinx/baloths)
But birds harrow (is cheeper to make) and leaves both turn 2 and turn 3 with 2 mana open, so I would swap out pierce for negate (im thinking that anyway)
Also im feelin +1 jace for -1 sphinx (not sure)
What kind of SB should i wield vs creature heavy decks? (with these colors) should (negate/pierce) be in the sideboard just for sligh/combo control?
With the way the format is i bet i could maindeck flashfreeze.

I was thinking about playing somehting almost identical to this..how much success have you had? as far as birds vs cobra, I like cobra. they all die to the same things, and birds cost one less. "Going fast" with a control deck always sounds fishy to me..so birds makes more sense to me. The problem I see is that if something hits play, it's going to stay in play. Ive never like blocking as a plan to get rid of a creature that hits. BUT! in your case your dudes pump out mroe dudes (i count garruk as a dude here), so it might not be as much of an issue.
of course i could be wrong about all of this |

Baloths and garruk plan on hitting play real fast with the mana acceleration-
and when garruk enters play he leaves 2 mana open for negate/scatter so only when baloths hit play (maybe)
I imagine dealing with creatures by having more- creatures (hopefully)
Now Sphinx was just the first creature that comes to mind, I want the slot sphinx is in to be a power card/creature so if you have a suggestion I'll consider it.
Now as for creatures that I cant counter, Ive considered this and I dont have a good answer, sideboard maybe winged coatle, unsummon, into the roil-
Roil sounds like the best bet, being 2 mana and if i can afford it (late game) makes it also a cantrip
But Im not sure if i want to thin out the mana acceleration or the creatures, or the planeswalkers....
I havent playtested it yet or id have a sideboard, thats basically how i feel it out. |

| with the amount of land fall happening is roil elemental out of the question? you do have the counters to back him up... possibly vines of vastwood in here as well? |
