Creatures: 23

4X Ob Nixillis, the Fallen
4x Baneslayer angel
3x Rampaging Balloths
4x Knight of the Reliquary
4x Lotus Cobra
4x Birds of Paradise

Other Spells:14

4x Harrow
4x Maelstrom Pulse
4x Path to Exile
2x Rampant Growth

Lands:24

4x Marsh flats
4x Verdant Catacombs
2x Teramorphic expanse
14x Basic Lands

Side Board; 15 (definately still testing)
3x mycloid Shepherd
3x Malakir Bloodwitch
3x White Knihgt
2x Summoning Trap
4x Vines of Vastwood

Yeah, it's an expensive deck, but I have it all. It's pretty good form what I've seen, good match against jund and boros, havn't played vamps a lot. Just looking to maybe tweak it a little. any thoughts?

Thanks.

If it didnt have all of those powercards I would say theres too much mana ramp, but the landfall works with baloths and ob, so Im actually interested to see how it goes.

the plan is to path his cobra in response to terminate or bolt so he can get land to play real spells

Getting a cobra bolted or bursted is a rough blow early game but thats why i run 4 birds. It makes the game harder but I have a better late game than Boros does. Terminate is just one less removal to hit one of the 11-14 rocks.

24 land is usually good, im thinking about more.

What do you guys like better? Grim discovery or rampant growth?

Thanks, I didn't even think of the sheperd, good side-tek. Smile

So any thought on Grim discovery vs. Rampant? Rampant pulls land from the deck early game, but grim can recycle fetch lands and grab a rock from the grave.

It's a tough call.

I was pondering the Khalni Gem
its not ramp per se but in a deck with WW BB GG it could smooth things out
and the draw back returns land to your hand so..

Color is not an issue with this one. Fetch lands, harrow, and birds/cobra makes getting the right colors for the right rock pretty easy.

So here's some reports on how I played at my FNM and at Game Day today.

So I went with the above list but tweaked the SB, her's the final sb list I went with.

4x Vines of Vastwood
4x Celestial Purge
4x Vampire Nighthawk
3x Identity Crisis

Edit: Oh, and I went with Grim in the Main Board over Rampant and was very Happy

I went undefeated at my FNM last night, played 5 rounds, wrecked three Jund decks (Vines and purges game two won me almost every game)

I got third at Game Day Today here's the breakdown:

1. BWG Vs. Jund.

Won Game 1 on the play with birds 1st turn and knights.

Won Game 2 with a vines on a baneslayer

2. BWG Vs. Esper Control

Lost game 1 died to a sphinx of the steel Wind.

Won Game 2-3 With Identity Crisis and Purge

3. BWG vs. Jund

Pretty much the same as round 1.

4. BWG vs. BG Lord of Extinction.

Won games 2-3 with Knights and angels.

5. BWG vs. Janky Jund with Master of the wild hunt.

Couldn't win this match because I didn't have deathmark sb for the masters.

Made top 8

Played jund again in the top 8, wrecked it.

Then played Janky jund and lost 1-2. Ended up getting third. All in all i'm very happy with how the deck palys

Were Balloths helping you a lot?

How do you manage all those removal of jund (terminates pulses and LB for cobras)? and after SB it would seem even harder thought hemo / ruinblaster / more removals Very Happy

Anyway sorry i cant think off anything to add but yea vines on baneslayer rox Very Happy

EDIT: I can only suggest you to go through all games you played with this deck and decide if Vines of Vastwood was helping a lot if yes - swap with something, maybe 1 more grim disc for something, i bet you were always SB 4x vines in g2 Very Happy

EDIT 2: Btw wouldnt Mind Sludge be better than Identity Crisis? 1 less mana and 4 any colour - why would u need to remove grave in this meta Very Happy
