Ok this is by far my favorite deck i have ever made. my friends simply refer to it as satans deck because the concept of it is just plain old.... well... evil! >=). again let me know what you think, i do plan on making some modifications soon, i will list those after the cards that are already in it.

LANDS

8X Plains
10X Swamp

BLACK CREATURES

1X (M10) Xathrid Demon
1X (M10) Liliana Vess (not technically a creature i know)
2X (EVN) Smoldering Butcher
2X (M10) Dread Warlock
1X (M10) Royal Assasin
4X (M10) Child Of Night
4X (M10) Zombie Goliath

OTHER BLACK SPELLS

3X (M10) Sanguine Bond
4X (M10) Diabolic Tutor
1X (M10) Tendrils of Corruption

WHITE CREATURES

1X (M10) Baneslayer Angel
4X (M10) Soul Warden
2X (M10) Guardian Seraph

OTHER WHITE SPELLS

4X (M10) Lifelink (Enchantment)
4X (M10) Angel's Mercy

ARTIFACTS

2X (M10) Demon's Horn
1X (EVN) Altar Golem

Ok so this deck is made for two main purposes. ONE - Get sanguine bond out ASAP and use child of night, baneslayer, angels mercy to gain life and deal it direct to players and if you have sanguine out and can get two or three soul wardens out each time a player puts a creature on the field from hand or graveyard or deck you gain three opponent loses three. so then your opponent is very restricted to what creatures they will play. TWO - if the fight goes on long enough throw out xathrid demon and altar golem one turn after another and then sacrifice altar golem for xathrids effect and deal usually around 10-15 damage. and if that doesnt work well enough can always just throw altar golem out with lifelink on it and do nothing but block (since blocking doesnt cause him to tap) and just eat the other player away with his lifelink + sanguine. its just plain evil to block with a 15/15 creature and gain 15 life and deal 15 to the person who attacked u =D. not to mention the 4 diabolic tutors i have to search for anything i need, like sanguine, or altar golem, etc. there really are plenty of ways this deck proves its worth. anyways comments please!

18 lands is like... 6 too few in a deck with an average converted mana cost of 3.31 (yes I calculated it!)

In order to go to 5 mana as quickly as possible, you should not miss a single land drop the first 5 turns. This means that you need 5 lands in 12 cards (or more) on average. That is 41,6%, or close to 25 lands.

Your percentage is 30. This means that you need 15 cards in 5 turns, three more than if you ran 25 lands. In that case you need to add draw cards like Mulldrifter, Jace or Sign in Blood to your deck (and hit two of them) in order to go as quickly as possible to 5 lands.

Take out the peripheral cards for more land.

yea i run into that problem at times lol i can simply throw in two plains and three swamps and test that out, all of my decks are 60-65 cards and none have more than 20 lands right now. ill push that one to 25 and see how it goes =)

That will disturb the balance of lands and nonlands, Vedrfolner's calculations were for a 60-card deck, so you should take out 5 cards for the 5 lands.

Get lots of new players into the game, not just commenting on this thread but the threads in general ober last few weeks seem to show a rise in new players.

Its frustrating as the best advice you can really give a new player is to get out there and play, as often the decks are not good enough to feedback upon with out taking the whole deck apart and with out constantly having to explain yourself, to the point where your literally writing articles.

I'd say it's a good thing overall though - it's nice to have new players enter the mix, although perhaps this place is a little harsh as a first experience of magic.

Fair point by you of course, but it's the only way on a place like this I guess.

yeah i had built one very similar like 3 days ago with the same concept lol but it definately needs to be tweaked. i threw in some fear creatures too so that lifelink will almost always go through.
