Well, this list was taken to Regionals last weekend and placed in 17th place with a 6-2-1 record. There is a lot of removal in the deck, as we expected Tokens (both versions) and various versions of aggro to be everywhere. Mainly looking for some suggestions to improve. We feel it has a pretty good matchup against tokens, esp. after boarding, and it has at least a decent game against most anything. Here's the list:

5-Color Control

4 - Reflecting Pool
4 - Island
3 - Vivid Creek
3 - Vivid Meadow
3 - Sunken Ruins
2 - Mystic Gate
2 - Cascade Bluffs
2 - Vivid Marsh
1 - Vivd Crag
1 - Vivid Grove
1 - Flooded Grove

4 - Kitchen Finks
3 - Mulldrifter
2 - Broodmate Dragon
1 - Lord of Extinction

4 - Cryptic Command
3 - Broken Ambitions
3 - Esper Charm
3 - Wrath of God
2 - Volcanic Fallout
2 - Path to Exile
2 - Runed Halo
2 - Maelstrom Pulse
2 - Cruel Ultimatum
1 - Liliana Vess

Sideboard:
3 - Negate
3 - Jund Charm
2 - Thought Hemorrhage
2 - Volcanic Fallout
2 - Maelstrom Pulse
1 - Path to Exile
1 - Wrath of God
1 - Runed Halo

As I said, we made our choices for the cards based on expecting a high number of token & aggro decks, and very few other control decks (5C, Faeries, etc.), and we were pretty much right on. One card that a lot of people were very surprised to see was the Lord of Extinction. Most of the time it will just eat a removal spell, but witht the way this deck can get cards into the yards, if you can cast him with countermagic backup, he can be GG all on his own at times. He has been nicknamed "Fatticus Rex" by our playgroup. A couple of the guys questioned him, but he was very valuable at Regionals. Comments, suggestions, whatever, all is welcome, just mostly looking for improvements. Thanks.

Hell who built this? Engima Sphinx look him up, take out Lord, and add nucklavee. Take out one path to exile and add firespout, or any other mini removal. take out runed halo period. Use double negative, its stops cascade in its tracks period. Run two jace vess isn't that great. Bitimous Blast is a must, who does'nt use bloodbraid, and anathemancer is a good sideboard card should I note.
Your land is terrible, it should be 2 island, 3 vivid meadow, 3 marsh, 2 sunken ruins 3 mystic gate, 1 flooded grove, and 2 exotic orchard. The PTE and Island self removal idea is not a good one.

The sideboard could use some flashfreeze, and celestial purge is a must anyhow. Take out 1 jund charm, 1 PTE, the wrath and the runed halo to. Put flashfreeze, infest, and celestial purge, pithing needle, gutteral response or vexing shusher.

Ok, I'm all for suggestions and all, but why would I take out Runed Halo when Anathemancer is in the format and I'm running 5C? Runed Halo saved me from that card all day on Saturday. Not trying to be dickish or anything, that's just one suggestion I can't bring myself to agree with.

Agreed, Oversoul. Runed Halo puts the hurt on Anathemancer beatz big time. Good call.

Well I run 5cc, and Anathemancer has only cost me a single game, but other than that, I often have the opponent badly beaten before they land it, therefore a useless card. I do agree runed halo is a okay card, guess you could put 3 in the sb or such.

You all should be getting as much play out of runed halo before it cycles out in a few months. Gives a lot of versatility for 2 white mana.

Alright alright, runed halo is good we know that. But we are trying to make the deck better.

Did I mention I never had any trouble with those cards, I always had them beat up bad before that even did any good.

One thing I've found with 5cc is that vs finks or redcap, it's sweepers don't quite sweep. add to that dauntless escort and it seems to be trouble. lark after a wrath is painful. Hence path to exile. Good addition. I think the matchup vs bant, lark, and decks running redcaps and fink which are seeing more play maindeck would be hallowed burial. unless you're looking at a tokens heavy format where then I would suggest austere command to get rid of those silly little blossoms and anthems and whatnot. they all delay the sweep but more versatility for a few more mana. Isn't that why we play cryptic command?
