Im back! My first ever Ala Cfx Arb draft I ended up winning with a pretty sick esper deck things are going pretty good at the moment rating of 1829 finally broke past 1820 for the first time since tripple rav, slops to wizards for getting rid of the being able to see other peoples ratings right as mine peaks.

P1P12: I definitely take tortoise formation. Its a terrible side card, but it also sends a great signal to the people on ur left (though this is a 4-3-3-2) so not sure how much that is worth.

Arsenal Thrash worse then Sewn Eye Drakes. Ive had threshs in decks with artifact counts ranging from 8-20 and even with all artifact.dec it still hasn't been that impressive. Often requiring u to do weird things to get value.

You also made some seemingly random picks in ARB.
I don't know whether this is because its a 4322 or ur personal play style but I would never pass good sideboard cards to just hate random playables.

Also Soul Manipulation is insane especially with multiple shieldmages and a SGarg.

What picks in arb its my third time drafting it and the other two were rrr casuals so very different so thats to be expected, the threser was never less than a 4/4 for me. Looking over it the only hate picks I see are late pack 3 when I already have my deck made, your suppose to hate then.

Those are cards I am not going to play I already have more than enough playables at this point, I am aiming to win the draft so i simply take the best card.

you took drugscape zombie instead of call to heel. Call to heel is premium with sactum gargoyl, strix, mechanist, sludge strider, shield mage. Its so good...

I'm fine with the dragon fodder over tortoise formation pick, if you want to send a signal you should def. take the land, because that says "this is a signal, read it" whereas unless you are at a pro tour day 2 table, no one is going to remember if there was even a formation in the pack.

p3p10:
If page is what I think it is (1WUB artifact, gain 2 life/lose 1 life/filter top card in upkeep), I'm a big fan of the card, it's great when you are behind, great when you are ahead, and adds to your clock if you are playing an aggressive deck. It's also VERY hard for the inf. removal decks to deal with.

p3p12
Whilst sojourners IS very good, I think architecht of will is better, and would even make your main deck.

Okay Im a big fan of bears but I see your point with call to heel its a card I rarely play even is esper, note made of this.

The page is the artifact you think it is, it seemed versatile but very underpowered to me plus my 4 drop slot was saturated already maybe not.

Architects of will, is the 5 mana hill giant that lets you manipualte the top 3 cards of your library right. I did not end up playing conniseur and even with just a dredgescape zombie to put in the bin corpse feels better.

Also soul manipulation over zealous persecution was i right on this. The soul manipulation felt more situational p3 p5?

on page: think kamigawa block draft format, page is like a honden of cleansing fire that does something else. honden was a mid-high pick in kami block draft, and although alara is a more powerful format, page is def. going to make your final deck (and not even as an 18-23rd card) if you can pay 1WUB

That is true though you do have to spend mana to use page which makes a big difference though i do see your point.
