hello
some day happen this i dont know what happen with lifelink
if i have a rhox war monk and a rafiq of the many and declare attack with the rhox and my opponent blocks with a 2/2 creature without first or double strike
for my double strike i first strike 4 to the 2/2 and normally the lifelink triggers and i gain 4 life.
the doubt is that if the first stike kills my oponent creature before the regular damage i dont gain the life for doble strike??? and only gain 4 ??
the same way with a bloking first stike creature 2/2 i gain the double of life or i only gain the first life because i killed the oponent creature
thanks anyways |

The creature dies after first strike is dealt, since the creature is dead there is nowhere to assign regular damage.
So basically you gain 4 life not 8 since regular damage is not dealt.
If the creature had trample then the rest of the damage would get assigned to your opponent |

With lifelink you gain life equal to the amount of damage dealt. In the example given, the Rhox War Monk will deal 4 damage during the first combat damage step, causing lifelink to trigger and gaining you 4 life.
During the second combat damage step, however, you have a blocked Rhox War Monk (once blocked, it stays blocked unless something specifically says it's not blocked) with no blocking creatures (It was already destroyed), and no trample, so there is nothing for the War Monk to assign damage to, so no damage is dealt so lifelink does not trigger and no life is gained. |

| Yes, in that second case the 3 damage will trample over. |

ya if it is a 3/3 double striker, trampler attacking and a 1/1 blocks during the first combat damage step u can assign in any of the 3 ways:
1 to the 1/1, 2 to the player
2 to the 1/1, 1 to the player
3 to the 1/1, 0 to the player
Then assuming this kills the 1/1 the only creature blocking the creature with trample then for the second combat damage step the only choice is to deal 3 points of damage to the defending player. |

| seems broken. i have been playing thinking that after you assign double strike damage to a creature and it dies only the first strike damage goes to the player. |

Assuming the creature also has trample, you've been playing wrong then.
If there are no blockers left, all damage from a trampling cerature gets assigned to the defending player. |
