------ ALA ------

Pack 1 pick 1:
Vectis Silencers
Resounding Silence
Deathgreeter
Kederekt Creeper
Resounding Roar
Soul's Fire
Oblivion Ring
Jund Panorama
Obelisk of Bant
Hindering Light
Fire-Field Ogre
Jund Battlemage
Puppet Conjurer
--> Flameblast Dragon
Forest

Oh its hard opening bombs

Pack 1 pick 2:
Excommunicate
Viscera Dragger
Druid of the Anima
Thorn-Thrash Viashino
Courier's Capsule
Yoked Plowbeast
Windwright Mage
--> Executioner's Capsule
Branching Bolt
Outrider of Jhess
Scourge Devil
Behemoth's Herald
Sacellum Godspeaker
Mountain

I already know some of you are going to say take the bolt but I prefer the e-capsule I think this is just down to preference, plus e-capsule kills flameblast dragon and it sets me more in a direction i like.

Pack 1 pick 3:
Bone Splinters
Deft Duelist
Savage Hunger
Soul's Might
Undead Leotau
Obelisk of Esper
--> Magma Spray
Dispeller's Capsule
Godtoucher
Angelic Benediction
Exuberant Firestoker
Cradle of Vitality
Swamp

The spray is a pretty easy pick, only other card worth mentioniong is the splinters

Pack 1 pick 4:
Thorn-Thrash Viashino
Yoked Plowbeast
Banewasp Affliction
Deft Duelist
Obelisk of Grixis
Resounding Scream
Bloodthorn Taunter
--> Knight of the Skyward Eye
Cavern Thoctar
Filigree Sages
Jhessian Infiltrator
Mountain

Took alot of time over this pick I am not a fan of cavern throctar, and considered knight of the skyward eye much better, enough that I prefer taking it to settling into jund.

Pack 1 pick 5:
Jhessian Lookout
Welkin Guide
Dreg Reaver
Cylian Elf
Obelisk of Bant
--> Wild Nacatl
Incurable Ogre
Scavenger Drake
Exuberant Firestoker
Mindlock Orb
Plains

The nactal is actually a good sign I made the right call, though the drake would have been nice had I gone jund

Pack 1 pick 6:
Ad Nauseam (FOIL)
--> Knight of the Skyward Eye
Cavern Thoctar
Cancel
Obelisk of Jund
Volcanic Submersion
Elvish Visionary
Sighted-Caste Sorcerer

Swamp

Okay so now looks like we are going naya

Pack 1 pick 11:
Savage Hunger
Soul's Might
--> Dispeller's Capsule

------ ALA ------

Pack 2 pick 1:

Kathari Screecher
Grixis Panorama
Obelisk of Bant
Wild Nacatl
Incurable Ogre
Windwright Mage
Cloudheath Drake
Qasali Ambusher
Savage Lands
Corpse Connoisseur
--> Mycoloth
Forest

Oh woe is me another on colour bomb, life is hard, I've met the perfect woman but shes 9 years younger than me etc etc etc

Pack 2 pick 2:
Steelclad Serpent
Marble Chalice
Viscera Dragger
Resounding Roar
Viashino Skeleton
Cancel (FOIL)
Obelisk of Naya
--> Oblivion Ring
Esper Panorama
Hindering Light
Fleshbag Marauder
Sphinx's Herald
Algae Gharial
Forest

The o-ring is in my opinion best common in the set

Pack 2 pick 3:
Viashino Skeleton
Call to Heel
Excommunicate
Druid of the Anima
Onyx Goblet
Obelisk of Esper
Godtoucher
Gustrider Exuberant
Resounding Wave
--> Bull Cerodon
Necrogenesis
Swerve
Island

Once again pretty straight forward pick

Pack 2 pick 4:
Sigil Blessing
--> Court Archers
Viashino Skeleton
Call to Heel
Resounding Wave
Blightning
Naturalize
Obelisk of Grixis
Volcanic Submersion (FOIL)
Necrogenesis
Swerve
Island

There are plenty of tricks in the set and overall the deck kind of feels like It wont need tricks, so i went with the archers

Pack 2 pick 5:
Cancel
--> Obelisk of Jund
Volcanic Submersion
Onyx Goblet
Dreg Reaver (FOIL)
Shadowfeed
Waveskimmer Aven
Guardians of Akrasa
Sigiled Paladin
Dragon's Herald
Forest

The paladin is the best card here but he felt hard to play and I have little fixing, good cards to ramp out and I can maybe splash that e-capsule if i get some mana cyclers after all my one panorama is jund.

Pack 2 pick 6:
Relic of Progenitus
Resounding Wave
Soul's Might
Resounding Scream
--> Guardians of Akrasa
Goblin Mountaineer
Angel's Herald
Mighty Emergence
Memory Erosion
Mountain

Pack 2 pick 7:
--> Excommunicate
Banewasp Affliction

Protomatter Powder
Swamp

Pack 2 pick 8:

Bant Charm
Thunder-Thrash Elder
Death Baron
Plains

Pack 2 pick 9:
Tortoise Formation
Shadowfeed
--> Tidehollow Strix
Kathari Screecher
Obelisk of Bant
Windwright Mage
Forest

Very late esper going round for some reason

Pack 2 pick 10:
Marble Chalice
Viashino Skeleton
--> Esper Panorama
Hindering Light
Sphinx's Herald
Forest

Might as well hate it

Pack 2 pick 11:
Viashino Skeleton
Onyx Goblet
--> Obelisk of Esper
Gustrider Exuberant
Island

Pack 2 pick 12:
Viashino Skeleton
--> Obelisk of Grixis
Swerve
Island

Pack 2 pick 13:
--> Onyx Goblet
Shadowfeed
Forest

Pack 2 pick 14:
--> Soul's Might
Mountain

Pack 2 pick 15:
--> Swamp

------ CON ------

Pack 3 pick 1:
Unsummon
Rhox Meditant
Vedalken Outlander
Absorb Vis
--> Ember Weaver
Vectis Agents
Quenchable Fire
Tukatongue Thallid
Lapse of Certainty
Rupture Spire
Controlled Instincts
Corrupted Roots
Grixis Slavedriver
Nyxathid
Plains

This is not the best pack for us overall I felt due to the strength of naya it was the pick over the rupture spire, I suppose the grixis slavedriver is also an option but I did not see it at the time if we splash but we already have enough end game and its not 100% we are splashing atm

Pack 3 pick 2:
Kranioceros
Mana Cylix
Hellspark Elemental (FOIL)
--> Wild Leotau
Frontline Sage
Rupture Spire
Suicidal Charge
Constricting Tendrils
Court Homunculus
Ignite Disorder
Scornful Ęther-Lich
Elder Mastery
Mark of Asylum
Forest

More fat fine by me

Pack 3 pick 3:
Frontline Sage
Aven Squire
Wretched Banquet
--> Sylvan Bounty
Canyon Minotaur
Exploding Borders
Lapse of Certainty
Scattershot Archer
Yoke of the Damned
Corrupted Roots
Ignite Disorder
Sigil of the Empty Throne
Plains

Fixing over the minotaur

Pack 3 pick 4:
Darklit Gargoyle
Wretched Banquet
Esper Cormorants
Tukatongue Thallid
Asha's Favor
Rupture Spire
Vectis Agents
Molten Frame
Reliquary Tower
--> Gluttonous Slime
Elder Mastery
Plains

I had a count of playables here and I was looking a bit thin after hating all that late esper pack 2 so I took the slime over the spire, also it works well with mycoloth.

Pack 3 pick 5:
Toxic Iguanar
Traumatic Visions
Font of Mythos (FOIL)
Beacon Behemoth
Zombie Outlander
--> Matca Rioters
Valiant Guard
Salvage Slasher
Goblin Outlander
Constricting Tendrils
Forest

Makes splashing the capsule all the better

Pack 3 pick 6:
Darklit Gargoyle
Unsummon
Brackwater Elemental (FOIL)
Faerie Mechanist
Rotting Rats
--> Goblin Outlander
Court Homunculus
Worldly Counsel
Dragonsoul Knight
Mountain

Pack 3 pick 7:
Frontline Sage
Rotting Rats
Asha's Favor
--> Nacatl Outlander
Grixis Illusionist

Shard Convergence
Spore Burst
Swamp

Much needed

Pack 3 pick 8:
Toxic Iguanar
--> Traumatic Visions
Mana Cylix
Valiant Guard
Salvage Slasher
Constricting Tendrils
Ancient Ziggurat
Island

Pack 3 pick 9:
Unsummon
--> Vedalken Outlander
Quenchable Fire
Lapse of Certainty
Controlled Instincts
Corrupted Roots
Plains

Pack 3 pick 10:
Mana Cylix
Frontline Sage
--> Suicidal Charge
Constricting Tendrils
Elder Mastery
Forest

Pack 3 pick 11:
--> Exploding Borders
Lapse of Certainty
Scattershot Archer
Corrupted Roots
Plains

Pack 3 pick 12:
--> Tukatongue Thallid
Reliquary Tower
Elder Mastery
Plains

Pack 3 pick 13:
Valiant Guard
--> Salvage Slasher
Forest

Pack 3 pick 14:
--> Court Homunculus
Mountain

Pack 3 pick 15:
--> Swamp

The deck

1 e-capsule
1 magma spray
1 tukatounge thalid
1 wild nactal
1 cylain elf
2 knight of the skyward eye
1 nactal outlander
1 obelisk of jund
1 oblivion ring
1 court archers
1 ember weaver
1 gluttenous slime
1 guardians of araska
1 macata rioters
1 exploding boarders
1 wild leotau
1 bloodpyre elemental
1 mycoloth

I'd take fodder, they're basically the same except Fodder feeds devour more and has a whole bunch of little benefits.

Still I think the call you made at the beginning was very smart, it's hard not to go Jund or Grixis once you've gotten Dragon + Capsule

Im not sure about the capsule pick... Bolt is clearly better and sets you in 2 shards anyway, like capsule does. I can see you coming from personal preference and the fact it can kill the dragon, nice thinking, but personally I'd still take the bolt. Im not that sure about the Ember Weaver over Spire either. Ember Weaver is good but isn't that powerful that you want less chances to play your Capsule and double colored cards and white cards, imo. P2P8 I mightve gone with the Bant Charm since it's as bad to see in opponents deck as Strix though strix can be more synergetic and you might even end up playing it if you got enough Domain/fix. Other than that, I might have done almost the same.

no complaints, I'm going to comment on a couple of very subtle points where I think you made correct picks, but probably for the wrong reasons.

p1p1
ok, dragon is the obvious first pick, and a great start to a 3-0 draft, lets examine the rest of the pack as we have time, and see what direction we should be heading for the rest of the draft

aside from dragon, we have

strong cards: (these will not table)
o-ring
resounding silence
jund battlemage
puppet conjuror

solid playables (I'm going to include fixing here, these might table):
Kederekt Creeper*
Resounding Roar*
Soul's Fire*
Jund Panorama*
Obelisk of Bant
Fire-Field Ogre

so, 3 of solid playables are going to be taken, I'm going to guess Obelisk of Bant will come back to you, and Ogre is better than Creep, so I'm going to guess that will go too (pray it goes 4-5th and NOT 7th-8th). I would expect Creeper to table, this means we're guarenteed a solid playable 9th in Grixis, and failing that, we're guarenteed a late red playable, either panorama or Soul's Fire.

p1p2
Knowing what we know, capsule is the pick here, we've also just passed a jund battlemage (which should go 3rd), there's a decent chance Thorn-Thrash Viashino will table from this pack, but if it doesn't it's not a huge loss, we should pick assuming it will though.

p1p3
Spray has got better in AAC because there are more aggressive 2 drops, in AAA I think this is clearly Splinters, in AAC I agree it's clearly spray.

p1p4
I agree on knight being the better card, it's p1p4 and a rare and uncommon are missing, so it's not a strong signal. you passed o-ring, and branching bolt in consecutive packs, I think it's fine to pass on green here and take the obelisk. if we end up playing greeen this will help the fixing, and it will def. help splash creeper later if we get it.

p1p5
nacatl is fine in jund too, this IS a strong signal. not the previous pack.

p1p6
I still don't like p1p4, but I think you're rewarded for it here

p1p9
now, this pack IS very interesting. obelisk is still here, but both fire-field ogre AND creeper are gone, whereas resounding roar (the only playable green card in the back, and probably a more powerful card than soul's fire in AAC) and panorama are both here. I think you take Roar, and solidify your green cut, but taking fixing isn't a terrible choice. it's very close though.

p2p1
you always seem to open multiple bombs in these drafts... it's a lot less interesting to comment on :S

p2p4
wouldn't criticize necrogenesis here with your panorama from pack 1, archers has got a lot better with all the 2/2s and flyers in pack 3 though

p2p5
sigilled paladin is so strong, and with your double knight of the skyward eye, you def. want white early. this is the only pick I don't really like at all from your draft

p2p9
let me help you explain why: 4-3-2-2 draft. if you want to become a better drafter, you really shouldn't be wasting your time here, as a lot of the subtleties that you pick up (see p1p4 and p1p1) are just irrelevant as you're at the mercy of seating and player card judgement, there are at least 2 grixis drafters at the table, both should have taken these strix.

p3p1
I much prefer spire, given the strength of the green signal pack 1 (resounding roar 9th, both grixis cards taken), I think you'll be fine on playables, and you're a base gw deck atm (due to your early drops being gw), this will help you play fewer mountains and support your late game bombs, ceradon and dragon. you don't have all that many early red drops, and you have 1 court archers already to do a similar role

p3p2
leotau on the other hand is a card you SHOULD take over spire.

p3p3
I prefer squire to both, but all 3 cards are fine picks here.

p3p4
NO, see p3p1

p3p6
dragonsoul knight is not a horrible semi-hate, but with 0 spires I understand the pick... sort of (although you DO need early red for your ember weaver)

p3p8
you're more likely to play the toxic igaunar

p3p9
I'm a big fan of quenchable fire, just not in your deck

p3p10
elder mastery.... so so late :S, your pick is of course the correct one though

p3p12
oh come on

Okay thanks feedback all, Im going to try applying some similar logic as dv8r demonstrated in upcoming drafts to early picks.

The thing with 8-4s is they do not fire regulary and they cost me alot more in the long run to play. If I can see one is about to fire I will join it but if as normal, its got 0-2 people in to the 4-3-2-2 6 I go with the 4-3-2-2.
