So I wanted to get together and play some 2HG with my friends. This is what I came up with. Keep in mind that I want to pair this up with a UWB Control deck. If you have any experiance with the format please let me know any changes that should be made.

Also if you can think of a deck that would pair well with the deck please make another thread with EXT 2HG DS PAIR in the title so that they can be easy to find.

The idea is for the combo deck to win the game while the control deck stops Stifle from wrecking the combo. So the Control deck must play U for the obv counterspells. Also if they can have "targeted card draw effects" that would be huge! Sins of the Past is for the off chance that someone play Trickbind.

4 x Blood Crypt

4 x Rite of Flame

4 x Ignorant Bliss

Ditch the sins of the past and ignorant bliss for draw spells. Nobody plays trickbind, but be carefull of extirpate. Bliss is pointless because pretty much the only discard that's being played is thoughtseize, which will come before you have 2 mana.
Also you really don't want to have sins of the past in your hand with infernal tutor in the deck..

How's this for a pair deck?

Lands
10 [10E] Island (3)
4 [ON] Flooded Strand
1 [TSP] Swamp (4)
4 [ON] Polluted Delta
4 [RAV] Watery Grave

// Spells
3 [FD] Vedalken Shackles
2 [LRW] Profane Command
4 [LRW] Cryptic Command
4 [TSP] Ancestral Vision
4 [BOK] Threads of Disloyalty
4 [RAV] Remand
4 [FNM] Smother
4 [PLC] Damnation
4 [8E] Mana Leak
4 [DIS] Spell Snare

I kinda like it because it's a great support deck but can also win by itself with the opponents creatures or command. Vision is nice as you can target your partner. Also packs many answers to Goyf, the creature that becomes even more insane in 2hg.

Bliss is in there due to the interaction with Infernal Tutor. Protection from discard is just a bonus. Also Bliss says that I start with a 60 - 4 (fetch lands) - 4 Bliss.

I was thinking that W or G may be good pair for the deck. Lifegain would buy some time for the combo to go off.

So I like the thought of Bliss but, can move it to the side. I would not need Damnation on the board.

Kokusho, the Evening Star is perfect for the deck as you are playing 2 other players so, a storm count of 4 they lose 40 life.

While the bliss + infernal tutor interaction works it's still bad. At 2RB you might as well be playing diabolic tutor...
It also means you can't combo that turn.

I also don't agree that it's -4 cards to your deck, as it still costs 2 mana to draw just 1 card. Things like mishra's bauble and street wraith are -4 to your deck but not this.

I am changing Ignorant Bliss to Night's Whisper.

No 2HG is not a tourney format. It is a lot of fun to play.
