Cradle of Filth's old stuff (Midian and earlier) are pretty good
Opeth: I like them a lot but if you're purely into black/death metal you won't like em because they have a lot of progressive influence with some mellow acoustic/clean sung parts
Emperor is also good |

lets start with
Meshuggah
Necrophagist
Disgorge (check out she lay gutted, cranial impalement)
Mastodon
Isis (not really death metal, ambiance and shit but not terribly boring)
Devourment (!!!!! KINGS OF SLAM try and get ahold of 138)
Candiria (kenneth shalk, my choice for the best drummer in metal, these guys will groove your face off)
Dillinger Escape Plan (once again im drifiting outside of DM)
Disavowed
Misery Index - (kevin talley started playing drums here after Dying Fetus but moved on, this is Jason Netherton's band)
Suffocation - also kicks major ass
Message me on IRC if you cant get a hold of any of these, I can link you to torrents etc. |

LOL @ A7X, Bullet for my Valentine, and Saosin.
You probably like Chiodos, right? 'Cause that shit is HARD!!!!
Anyway, I'm not too into death metal, but if you want some good hardcore, I can help you with that. |

| Some kids who only know crappy little hot topic bands like BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE will never understand music that's not mainstream. |

Yes! I totally agree with you. For the real UG music fans out there, try Bulgarian folk choir music. You'll never look back. |

Um....
Lamb of God
August Burns Red
sometimes I like some singing with the metal and for that I go with Killswitch Engage and Diecast.
All shall perish is great but I think you said that. |
