So Im back with another draft I lost in semis to my computer crashing again, after forcing outwin game 1 losing 20 mins of clock whilst savegly lagged in the process mulling to 4 and conceding rather than wasting anymore time, I get the perfect aggro draw curve with bounce and removal to boot game 3, I make my 2 drop attack next go attack phase clock freezes my computer goes into spasm and nevr recovers honestly I hate the fucking thing.

Event #: 89617
Time: 10/24/2008 8:04:06 PM
Players:
MDGeist
Holmsvin
ElfDestroyer
--> ElementalMox
mysteriogi
Briela
gilgameshmm
duckyboy

------ ALA ------

Was savegly lagged at start of draft also so it missed it, my first pick was a bonesplintters random drafted which is really good, getting rid of some irrelvant dork to pick of there best creature for B is very good.

Pack 1 pick 2:
--> Agony Warp

Pack 1 pick 3:
Mountain
Glaze Fiend
Dreg Reaver
Grixis Panorama
Viashino Skeleton
Tidehollow Sculler
Etherium Sculptor

Im not going to give to much card analysis as I dont really know the cards yet and certainly made some mistakes first time ever drafting set.

Pack 1 pick 4:
Savage Hunger (FOIL)
Guardians of Akrasa
Goblin Mountaineer
Vectis Silencers
Crumbling Necropolis
Island
Jungle Weaver
Hissing Iguanar

All the good players I know are advocating quick aggresive 2 colour decks staying 2 colour if possible so thats what I am aiming to do.

Pack 1 pick 5:

--> Executioner's Capsule
Dreg Reaver
Vithian Stinger
Naya Battlemage
Esper Panorama
Scourge Devil

I appoligise for the lack of description but honestly most these card names mean nothing to me atm, I promise too check out any alternative picks you suggest though:)

Round 1 my opponet is 4 colours and spends most his time fixing mana whilst I curve out, he concedes when i bounce the first creature he plays. Game 2 is a bit more competative he makes a few dudes and i beat in the air, a cycled resounding sience wins the race for me however.
Round 2 UGW he gets turn 3 pancake flipper god i love that name makes me laugh every time but i have a tidehollow strix to hold the fort, he makes a bunch of exalted craetures that forces me on back foot, fate stictcher is keeping me in game he also has some bomb 3/4 angel who only allows you to untap 1 crature in your upkeep, Im forced into some unfavourable trades now relying on top decking excutioners capsule for win, I stabalize and deck is running short on cards, I start racing in air and chump blocking his exalted attack, I win with 9 mins left on clock. Game 2 1 land hand, 6 1 land hand, 5 one land hand concede doing this has taken a minute of clock, Game 3 the hand i wanted 2 2 drops one flying, a 3 drop flyer an agony warp, a resounding wave, bone splinters 2 lands, looks like i may win in time, i lag savegly though with massive freezes, eventually with 7 minutes on clock me 2 creatures on board removal bounce in hand opponent only lands my pc freezes and never recovers, thats my fucking pc for you.

The deck

1 Executioners Capsule
1 Bone Splinters
1 Courriers Capsule
1 thoughtcutter agent
3 Tidehollow Strix (2/1 flyer death touch for 2 awsome in my book)
2 agony warp
1 call to heel
2 Jhessian Lookout
1 Windwright mage
1 excommunicate
1 Cancel
1 resounding wave
1 kathari screecher
1 tower gargoyle
1 fate stitcher
2 cloudheath drake
2 Skeletal Kathari
land
1 Crumbling Necropolis
1 Seaside Citadel
2 Bant panorama
1 Grixis Panorama
2 plains
6 swamp
4 Islands

Sb cards of note

2 etherium sculptor
1 vectis silencer
1 fire field ogre
1 goblin deathraider
1 dreg reaver
1 Angel Song

Feedback appreciated unlike my pc.

Sculler over Drake is probably correct p3pack1

Battlegrace Angel over Tower Gargoyle is not close. Not remotely close.

Seems like people dont really know whats up online, so its a good time to be drafting.

gl.

Covenant > Cancel also. That one isnt close.

I agree with the Sculler, as it was still early and i should be making open picks.

Battlegrace angel is clearly the better card but with what I already had drafted WW was simply not possible so to me the gargoyle was the pick. Even with the mana base i had it was not super consistant and Im not into the habbit of giving people free wins daue to mana base just to accomidate 1 card.

I also agree the convenat is a stonger card than cancel by some way, but I already had enough 5 drops and with the low curve plus bounce in my deck cancel becomes alot better.

Pack 2 pick 3:
Shadowfeed
Bloodpyre Elemental
Excommunicate
Lush Growth
Sigil of Distinction
Viscera Dragger
Algae Gharial
Thorn-Thrash Viashino
Druid of the Anima
Qasali Ambusher
Yoked Plowbeast
Island
--> Courier's Capsule

this pick is frankly absolutely laughable.

EDIT: I'm not going to bother doing a full draft walkthrough as it's clear in several instances that you either don't know what cards do or are completely misevaluating them. Do a couple more practice drafts and come back. The p2p3 pick in particular where you pass the best limited card since jitte (and possibly the second best limited card OF ALL TIME), sigil of distinction, for a card that says draw 2.... In fact, that fact that Sigil of Distinction is STILL IN THE PACK at this point makes me think the exercise exceptionally futile.

Yeah I read the card was unsure of how good it was so passed it. Obvoiouy I dropped the ball Im not going to stop posting as its fairly easy to identify mistakes from early drafts like this, so it should speed up my learning process quite considerably, all I've done before this draft is scanned over spoiler once. Whilst people have been drafting shards for a good few weeks on ml so are a fair bit a head of me. That said I am going to stop drafting until server load is less, as my pc just keeps on crashing.
