After the banning of Entomb, reanimator has been gone for a while now. With Reanimate and Exhume gone they are replaced with Life/Death (same effect has Reanimate but cost 1 more), Stitch Together (combined with Putrid Imp and Glimpse and u get ur treshold FAST), Goryo's Vengeance (always nice for a finishing blow). The old Reanimator had Buried Alive but it seems to slow for the current meta, although last rites could be useful sometimes to kick tog's ass I think its to expensive. So without Buried Alive it needs at least 10 creatures and other ways to get creatures in the yard (careful study, putrid imp, glimpse the unthinkable) or even cabal therapy urself (if ur that desperate). Bounce wrecks this deck so I need a way to beat it. |

I agree about Footsteps being better then goryo but reanimator without buried alive can't go lower then 10 creatures. |

If you think Rorix is less utility then Sundering Titan u need to really double check the card. Rorix has Flying and haste, Titan has hmm sac a land, chump block anyone? |

its extended not t1. For exemple, if ur facing affinity would u rather have titan when he has an army or a flyer that is dmg goes through? |

Just thought I would post some comments.
You are right that Reanimator suffered a huge blow with the loss of Entomb, Exhume, and Reanimate. The blunt of the blow being speed and in my opinion utility as well. Without Entomb (and with Buried Alive being to slow for the current meta) it seems that utility creatures have lost their usefulness. Now it is strictly deal as much damage as quick as possible.
Creatures
4x Putrid Imp (You run this guy for all the obvious reasons)
4x Akroma (Beat Stick. Need I say more?)
1x Nishoba (I can sort of see this. But without haste I am not feeling Nishoba)
4x Rorix (IMO drop Rorix completely for two more Razia)
2x Razia (Up this to 4x)
Reasoning: Rorix is a great guy. He is a 6/5 Flyer and he has Haste! But guess what? Razia is a Flyer with Haste and Vigilance. Razia may only be a 6/3, but throw in the ability and you've got yourself a 6/6 blocker that can ping your opponent's creatures. IMO much better than Rorix.
Spells
4x Careful Study (Great Draw/Discard engine)
4x Glimpse (I am experimenting with this now, but not sure if it is going to work out)
4x Cabal Therapy (Good hand disruption, but IMO either run Duress over this or in joint with it)
4x Life/Death (Obvious choice)
4x Stitch Together (Obvious choice)
2x Goryo's Vengeance (In my experience not the best two slot usage, but I may be wrong)
Reasoning: Cabal Therapy is great. As I stated before. However, unless you plan on targeting yourself (which does work in a pinch, believe me) or you already know what your opponent is playing Duress is superior. In my build I run Duress and Cabal Therapy. This dirupts hand long enough for me to start swinging. Nothing says sexy like a first turn Duress followed by A) A Chrome Mox + Cabal Therapy or B) A second turn Cabal Therapy. As for Goryo's Vengeance. Well it is a good card in its own right, but it removes creatures from the game at the end of the turn. All your targets except Nishoba will have haste anyways. From the testing I have done 8x reanimate spells seems to be enough. I dropped the extra for more discard/draw engines.
Sideboard
I don't currently have a solid sideboard so I can't comment much on yours. It looks decent enough, but I haven't tried some of the cards so I'm not sure.
My Build + Thoughts

These are just my opinions. Feel free to discuss them with me and or argue against them (constructively please). With any luck if we all keep chatting with each other like this we may breathe life back into Reanimator yet.
Thanks,
Shun |

| I know you're going with blue in order to utilize draw/discard stuff, but why not go red instead? You can go more controling and add in things like Smother, Terminate, and Innocent Blood. But most importatly, you get access to Burning Wish. Give it some thought guys, because I really want this archtype viable again... |

Umm... Leylide of the Void, anyone?
When 1 card can disrupt an entire deck to the extreme that the void can to reanimator, it's MTG R&D telling you "don't play this." I'm not going to say it can't be done, but don't be surprised to see people packing 4 voids in sideboard to deal with reanimator if it picks up steam in the metas. |
