Runes of the Deus
Safehold Duo
Scuttlemutt
Hungry Spriggan

1 Watchwing Sacrecrow
1 Wanderbrine Rootcutters
1 Smouldering Butcher
1 Biting Tether
1 Gravegill Axe Shark
1 Merrow Wavebreakers
12 Island
5 Swamp

I made the deck a little more geared to beating agro then perhaps the most powerfull build with effigy and stuff.

Sb cards of note
Gnarled Effigy, Mistmeadow witch should I have splashed for? Oona’s gatewarden, Celluran Wisp, Advice from the fae (not enough creatures or bomb cards to be that good.) 2 ravens crime.

Go easy this was my first eventide draft.

Merrow Wavebreakers is great, he hits your opponent for three then sits there to block their ground creatures.

Yeah everyone seems to think advice from the fae is worse now with eventide whilst wavebreakers is better, I would'nt call it bad, its fine with low curve or if you have plenty of bombs to draw but i dont have either and maybe even if i did certainly if not the wavebreakers was the correct pick.

Not at all. In UB you lack big creatures, and warcrawler is the best you can get here. Something aside that: Since UB is so open, as you stated, the following drafters can use the Warcrawler, but they probably don't want to play the River's Grasp.
