first
sorry about my english i am in a developing country anf this topic i will use my primary education for the best understand to all
second
I don't have english in national langue but play MTG is good way that make me chance to learn and talking with foreign
------------------------------------------------------------
yes I love Magic
and think
every one here is love magic too
BUT .. ONline play is most comfortable usefull and convenience
that exclude MGTO [ Because it eat money ] i like it use to play it that first beta test that free play so good
and try to know this MAGIC-LEAGUE site and stay here long time
and use appr. and become MWS [ greatest that have compact pack for noob that can install and set every thing in one click]
....
EVERY TIME i connect to internet i will go to play This IRC [ use JAVA to play in site becose i can't use Mirc] that good
and I just speak : " T2 leageu smg me " " Chall me + ML server " and waiting some one in another side or monitor to play with... [yes i think counter clock time zone + 12 Hr. so yu day am night]
...
but i seem some guy ... like Shadow09 or shadowxx [ for got that full server name ]
Topic is
" yes i need t2 league challme "
say "no ... you are a shit ... "
" ... I am so shit ? why ?? ]
" Your point ? "
" 14xx "
" ... that shit "
" and i ask important thing is you play for what ?
.... Point or Game ..."
"... I play for point "
" hmm if like that you can make 2 or more ML ID can challange each other then wait 8 mins to report a win repeat this many time you need "
and he say " I am not a shit.... "
( and leave my challange )
.....
in my mind " You are really shit... " .. if you good you kill me easy why care...
------------------------------------------------------------
another one situation is
IN BIG TRIAL 64 K ... i think
some time i have good luck[or some skill] to win in round 5+
and opponent say " you care about rating ?? "
( so shit any one care sure ) '... hm .. am care "
"..."
" but ok ^_^ " ormay be "^_^ am gtg to sleep I give you win ( round 4 or 5 = 5-6 am in my time) "
" Gl in next round c ya "
... " Thanks "
that reason i play for game ... for fun ... for talking and idea for deck
....
i know i have low rating i use to have 15+ in one win in tourney and 20+ in trial
some time i am a bomb
But i like my name " sorot " i don't need to make new to reset at 1600... and i don't care
...
so That reason i Create this my First poll..
PS.1 Online isn't real live why they still care
2 May Be real life they still care ?
3. last .. i don't like a net deck,I use my originaldeck. |

First off for not having the english language as a primary language you did pretty well.
Secondly. I play magic seriously IRL, but I have fun doing it too. No one likes to lose, but in the end its just a game. I am naturally a competitive person. Online with the league and just MWS in general I play for fun. I build the standard Tier 1 and 2 decks, but I also build my own decks. Also I play my favorite format mostly online. That being EDH. Also online I find it harder to play competitively. You cant see the other player which is huge when playing competitively. As I am good at reading people. You can compare that to the differences between online poker and real life poker. All in all this league means nothing to real DCI ratings. Its just for fun. |

Are you reading the same post as I do? He may have done pretty well but not in English because that's clearly not English. It must be some obscure language nobody knows.. |

Yeah its easy enough to understand his message. A lot of the words are jumbled around, but don't look at what he typed, look at it as what hes trying to say. And from there you can fill in the blanks. It also requires a bit of patience. |

I hate losing.
Still i play because of the game, not the points.
In some formats, I do that successful (Limited), in others, less successful (Eternal,Other,Constructed). The reason is, i think, that in Constructed, the avaliable card pool is too big to not make mistakes when deckbuilding. While in Limited, the cardpool is small, and deckbuilding is not as free as in the "Constructed deck" formats.
The point is:
Simply ignore whoever says someone'd be a noob/bad player. Everyone is a specialist in some way. I am not great at Vintage, but at Limited, You're maybe not great at Standard and Limited, but why don't you try the Other formats like Rainbow Stairwell.
Or improve your play (to make it better, not to get points ) I'm sure most opponents would be willing to tell what they'd do different if they plaed in your position. |

I play for a couple reasons. First, I like making a deck that is really good and that is fun for me, so building the deck is one of my favorite parts. Second, I do enjoy winning, but I just enjoy winning because I am competitive, not because of rating. While I would like my rating to be higher, it's not too much of an issue especially because I have only been on this site for a week or so.
Also, your english isn't bad. It's very good actually for someone who hasn't really been taught. Also, which country are you from? |
