i read from other articles that soulstoke's ability allows you to possibly 'flash' an elemental at end of your opponent's turn, and by doing so, you save this flashed elemental from being sacrificed until the end of YOUR upcoming turn.

So, while playing, my Soulstoke did it to my Mulldrifter at end of his turn. After untapping my permanents, he noticed, and shouted "Hey! You should've put Mulldrifter in your graveyard during end of my turn."

How do I explain it to him? Smile

the wording of soulstoke says "at end of turn, sacrifice that creature"
during cleanup is when "until end of turn" effects wear off.
"At end of turn" represents a one-moment trigger that triggers "AT EOT". once that window passes (much like blinking avalanche riders with its echo on the stack AT THE BEGINNING of upkeep) you can slide in your drifter. that mulldrifter has a delayed trigger on it waiting for the next linear "end of turn" to begin when it will sac.

'At end of turn' triggered abilities trigger at the beginning of the End of Turn Step (much like 'at the beginning of the upkeep' triggered abilities, which actually spell that out).

So if you play something with that triggered ability in the End of Turn Step, that step has already began and it won't trigger that turn. The triggered ability will simply wait for the next End of Turn Step to begin, which will be in the next turn.
