UW Azoritron, as played by Shaheen Soorani. How could the deck/sideboard be changed? How could the matchups be improved? Discuss! |

| The deck seems solid. I know Shaheen and he doesn't like Thirst for Knowledge and rather play a bunch of cards that cantrip and scry to get card advantage or selection. |

You would be significantly benefited by not drawing out of top 8 if you play this deck |

| Shaheen said the sb would lose one sphere and gain another sun droplet. Other than that I have made a few other changes like dropping the 1 random Talisman and adding the 4th wrath. |

i kinda hate the this version, since fact is really slow and i really love thirst for knowledge and thin that 4 fact is overkill and to slow.
the talisman is needed but also is the 4t wog.
i personally think the sun drophlet is awfull. these two life are just to slow. prefer condemn in this slot |

i have been looking at the deck, and playing with the deck, and it deffinely need the fourth wrath..
I would allso considder adding an other academy ruins, but im not sure yet if the manabase can handel it..
Sun Droplet does not belong in the sideboard. play condemn or something else
fact of fiction seems better than thirst of knowlage. |

You all are nuts....well those who are bashing sun droplet.
Sun Droplet is the be all end all answer to aggro decks in a cute 2 colorless spell. I wish they covered my feature match with Masachi, when I played double sun droplet on him games two and three, and he conceded a couple turns later. One out keeps you alive for a super long time, rendering one attack useless, and the second one seals the game shut. Sphere of law sucks, and I found out that the hardway, but FOUR SUN DROPLETS IS A MUST, I can't emphasize that to you guys anymore, and cutting it for stupid condemns will "condemn" you to a road of losses.
No more academy ruins. Sure slaver lock is awesome, but I lost zero games post slaver anyway....
Wrath of God is a dissapointing card. It is 30% amazing and saves you, 70% dead. Three is the max number and the next version I built has the 4th repeal and the third renewed faith to help the aggro game in the maindeck.
Saying this deck is slow and suggesting thirst for knowledge is retarded. Your playing a control deck.....they are slow...if you don't want to play UW based control then play rock and cease from winning matches all together. Turn 1 go, turn 2 go, that is control, sorry. On that same note four fact or fiction is a bad choice, I wish I could run 5-6, and wanting to cut down on one of the best card drawers to add a fancy version of catalog (thirst), is ludacris.
TylerTMK says "You would be significantly benefited by not drawing out of top 8 if you play this deck "
-Very very very very very very funny, I havn't heard that one before. ......I hate you.
So the new list is the one off the mtg.com site MINUS 2 solemn simulacrum, +1 repeal, +1 renewed faith.
SIDEBOARD -3 sphere of law, +1 sun droplet, +1 renewed faith, +1 wrath of god.
Any questions, feel free to PM me or post and I'll check back. Anyone on SCG know me as alicairo nickname, and I'm new to these boards. Email is ssoor001@yahoo.com for any other non sexual help, thanks. |

What do you all think of the 8post build?
I've been testing it a lot, and people keep reinforcing my already strong opinion that it is stronger than the original Tron-based builds.
It produces around 2x the mana with all of its pieces, which are also faster than tron in threes and free up space for more basics. The posts are also not picky; they work together no matter how many you have, as long as there are two or more TO work together.
But I assume you already knew this all. ^^; I've been testing with 3/3 Stuffy Doll/Guilty Conscience, and while it wins me the game 50% of the time, against control it's a bit of a pain to resolve. But that's just me, I never draw my countermagic. I went through FORTY (40) CARDS last night without seeing a condescend. Card #40 was a Remand, but no Condescend. And only one Remand for that matter. x.x
Anyway, without further ado, my current decklist.

SB: 1 [SC] Guilty Conscience
SB: 3 [9E] Sacred Ground
SB: 4 [MR] Sun Droplet
SB: 2 [TSP] Trickbind
SB: 4 [PS] Meddling Mage
I took a few things from the build at the top and the suggestions at the bottom of this post, but I've found this deck to be very strong.
Suggestions? Criticisms? Random flames for me to ignore?
-My two cents |

i think the main thing is how the hell does this thing prevent dredge from going off??? it dies.
vs the rest of the field it certainly seems viable though... jugan blue, counter goyf, rock, doran the explorer... so its certainly something to consider. |

| I think that Nix and turn two Remand are the way to go. It seems like the only thing that you can side other then Echoing Truth. |

Really with 1 tormod's crypt MD and 3 sb dredge isn't that hard to beat (you should also have disenchant/repeal for needles). Though I lol'd at the thought of running nix.
The reason the deck isn't so great is the doran deck. Vindicates are everywhere, and teeg is a complete nightmare to deal with. Jugan blue is certainly no walk in the park either...

SB: 1 [LRW] Moonglove Extract
SB: 3 [10E] Condemn
This is what I'm running atm which is basically very similair to Mihara's deck from the last Pro Tour just with a Triskelion so I have a way MD of killing teeg. In this metagame it might be a better call to run the fact or fiction version with exalted angel's main, but I haven't tested that really. |

I don't think UW Tron is bad in this format ATM.
I went undefeated 5-0-2 at PTQ Fargo (113 participants) and placed 5-8th after making top 8. I played against Doran and Vindicate 3 of my 5 rounds before drawing into the top 8.
As funny as it sounds, Stuffy Doll and Guilty Conscience are monsters and won me a majority of my games. Also maindeck engineered explosives along with SB Moonglove Extract helped shore up all the problem cards.
Here's the list I Top 8'd with.
12 Tron
3 Tolaria West
4 Skycloud Expanse
4 Hallowed Fountain
1 Academy Ruins
4 Azorious Signet
3 Sundering Titan
1 Mindslaver
4 Stuffy Doll
3 Guilty Conscience
2 Decree of Justice
4 Thirst for Knowledge
3 Fact or Fiction
3 Condescend
3 Remand
3 Engineered Explosives
3 Wrath of God
SB:
3 Tormod's Crypt
3 Kataki, War's Wage
3 Meddling Mage
1 Wrath of God
2 Moonglove Extract
3 Disenchant
--------
I would (and will) play it in the next 3 ptq's I plan on attending because the resiliency and win ratios against every deck are just too good.
Can't argue with results. |
