Definition of combat damage

In Dolmen Gate it says prevent all combat damage to attacking creatures you control, Im just wondering if combat damage is defined as damage delt by a attacking or blocking creature, or any damage delt in the combat phase.

only creatures deal combat damage.

damage dealt by a creature's power during the damage step in the combat phase
