Need Help Connecting

Greetings from Mississippi!

My friend and I want to connect over the internet and play on apprentice but we can't seem to get it to connect. We have the same cardinfo in our sets folder and when we try to call each other it does nothing.

I have read through the forums for possible help but I haven't found anything useful. I think it has something to do with the port not being open or whatever, but I have no idea how to open it.

The two most common causes of being unable to connect are firewalls and routers.
If either of you is connected through a router, you will be unable to connect with apprentice. The solution is a program called Hamachi. Google it or look for it on the site here.
If neither is routered, you both should check your firewall settings, and make sure your wall is letting appr access the internet.
If neither fix works, then I don't know what to tell you.

What I would recommend is that you both download Magic Workstation even if you can get appr to work. MWS can connect even if you are routered since you can use a central server. You will still need to configure your firewall. Aside from connection issues, MWS has a bunch of advantages over apprentice.

Shut Off Windows Firewall.... the killer of EVERY INTERNET PROGRAM!!! well unless you can configure it to let it through, but thats way to annoying....

Open the PORT!!..... open port 4747 in your Router(both TCP and UDP, just in case)

well if you can't connect i feel sad...

APPRENTICE sucks, please cease using it, use MWS, its better, looks better, and is better.. You can attualy do things instead of saying.. yeah this is my deck, etc etc... and less bugs
